Harbaugh is a bust. Notre Dame is a paper tiger and Urban Meyer is gone. Don’t see penn state or Nebraska being elite anytime soon either.

Georgia, Florida, LSU and even Kentucky are on an upswing.

Perhaps the CFP should be expanded if only to allow 2 or even 3 SEC teams a chance to compete for a championship?

Note: I would have been against putting a 2 loss non conference champ Georgia in over undefeated or conference champs. With 6 or 8 they could get a shot.

I would like to have seen Clenson play ND in Yankee Stadium. We saw how Miami handled the cold weather

Someday we might get a real playoff. Would be fun watching Kyler Murray try running around in a few inches of snow.

I think having various regional powers that periodically compete and win championships is good for CFB. Unfortunately there is a serious talent gap that appeared to be closing but the bowls exposed that as false.

And it looks like the trajectory is more of the same in the future

I get that. Even in the NFL, though, while the playoffs are played is all weather elements the SB is almost always is a dome or warm weather location.

By the way, OSU has been the only northern team representing over the las 20 years and now they lost their HOF coach.

Midwestern schools have a long-term recruiting problem. Ohio State should be fine but not sure about anyone other than them.

What a great year. Old school power. Don’t think they can get to elite though

And the Bears. But as far as college football goes, schools that aren't from the South except for Ohio State have no chance.

That's fine. We can almost always have the championship game in a dome or warm weather. What the NFL doesn't do is cater exclusively to southern football in its regular season or postseason.

In all honesty, the Big Ten could go the Ivy League route and give up on big-time football and basketball. I believe that the Ivies and Chicago have no problems with their academic prestige and money since they gave up big time athletics.

All big ten schools except Nebraska are part of the AAU which includes all Ivies and schools like Duke, Tulane, Johns Hopkins and the like.

My guess is that Michigan v. Ohio State and Michigan v. Minnesota and Michigan v. Michigan State would still draw decent crowds without the expense of big time athletics. And their academics would get better.

But that won't happen and I think it's in the best interest for college football to have a truly national appeal.

Wisconsin beat LSU in Green Bay. Maybe they should start having some of the big bowl games in cold weather to even the playing field.

Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin and Mixhican State have all had very good teams recently.

Syracuse is starting to build a solid program.

Despite the egg in huge games Notre Dame has knocked off Southern teams recently

Frost can easily make Nebraska a contender

I still think Ohio State could have knocked of Clemson if given the chance

Nah, their slide into irrelevance has already begun.

Come on man, i live in Ohio and we have been in the 40s. It was 60 two days ago. It's very rare to see snow here anymore during football season

Also, I live in Florida half the year. It's in the 70s.
