A mentally exhausting activity, not sport.

It is physically demanding. But I wont argue that it is NOT a sport. But the NBA is a competition as well right. A bunch of guys trying to put a ball in a basket.

And I'm not a Nascar fan but I'm pretty sure they don't go 200 mph. I think it's something like 170.

It's really hard to consider NASCAR drivers athletes. NASCAR drivers are the equivalent of head coaches in team sports IMO. Drivers are very important but you need to have the best cars to win just like you need to have great players to be successful in team sports. Tactical aptitude is a lot more important than physical ability.

you do realize in the pre-restrictor plate days they were averaging around 215-220 on this track?

No, crew chiefs are the equivalent of head coaches.

You'd be wrong then. Average speed may not be 200 but they hit that going into corners at a few tracks...Daytona Talladega and California for sure

While NASCAR drivers do have to have focus non-stop, I would put Golf as more mentally exhausting. No two shots are EVER the same. You lose focus on one shot and you can ruin an otherwise great round.

I don't think what they do is particularly mentally exhausting. Those dudes step out of the car and pour a pepsi or gatoraid over their head and give interviews with no problem.

If you have not been to a race, it is impossible to comprehend how fast they go.

The difference is that drivers have an entire team to make those decisions for the drivers in real time. If the driver doesn't want to think, he doesn't have to.

Oh and it's not a sport, but it is very entertaining.

So do ya'll think those guys piss and shite all over themselves or what. It's like 6 hours. If so, wallowing in your own excrement could be pretty exhausting. I don't think Tiger Woods has to do that.
