What do you see happening with basketball?

Salary cap structures make it impossible to do much of anything that will be nearly as disruptive.

NBA is now allowing sovereign wealth funds to invest in teams, so it is anyone’s guess. Basketball is not their priority. I suspect cricket will be next. But they have enough money to be disruptive in any sport, except maybe football because it doesn’t have worldwide appeal.

How is it not correct. They are getting the money. They are worth that amount to liv who’s paying them. They aren’t worth that ti the pga who isn’t paying them.
You are correct in that they were paid what they were worth to the Saudis, yes.

Where you are incorrect is you said it's "basic economics." The Saudis 100% or 100000% did not pay those dudes all that money for economic reasons. They do not think that giving Rahm a half a billion will bring them a positive ROI financially.

It's kind of the literal opposite of "basic economics"

Would be the equivalent of opening a restaurant and laying all the cooks 2 million dollars and losing 100s of thousands weekly
And calling it "basic economics"

Calling them bad Christian’s and telling them they are guilty of taking blood money probably wasn’t the best reaction. Especially when they turned around and merged with the blood money. You know this, yet you play dumb. You are playing, right?

I disagree with the blood money angle. But it was really their only play. To try and guilt then into staying or threaten

What should they have done? “Pretty please don’t take the 100s of millions they are offering?”

The fact is they were never going to be able to offer anything in the same galaxy from a financial perspective.

Listened to them years ago instead of laughing in their faces.

Once they left there is nothing they could do. Trying to shame them was stupid.

Rahm just officially announced. beautiful

Weirdly, baseball may appear to be a future play. I just learned about Baseball United, a four-team league where former MLB players are rostered.

Pablo Sandoval
Robinson Cano
Bartolo Colon
Didi Gregorious
and others.

Managers include Chris Sabo and Miguel Tejada.

Rahm did the same thing Jay did. Speak in absolutes then completely go back on their word, however, I don’t expect you do judge one quite like the other……

Truth is neither of them should have spoken in absolutes publically. It is foolish and serves no purpose.

And they could have given the players EXACTLY what they wanted years ago, and the Saudis would still over 100 million more. Then what?

Just curious. As someone who lives in the United States, why does it excite you that a top 2-3 figure in a sport you love is leaving for another Tour where you know half of his events will be played in a different time zone? Is this an enjoyment of watching things burn down thing? Because I don't see how Rahm getting paid half a billion dollars should do anything for fans here in the States. I personally think it's sad that this is where we are now regardless of whose fault it was

Golf Channel doing their propaganda number on Jon. What a bunch of paid assassins. Rahm can certainly change his point of view given that the PGA and Monahan have gotten in bed with the same Saudi money in the past few months.

Jon Rahm's exodus is scaring the PGA to death. If Rahm can go, who can't or won't? As Brooks Koepka might put it, it might be time to get Monahan a welfare check.

Yeh I mean Rahm 100% went back on everything he claimed to so greatly hold dear in beliefs. It’s whatever, but it’s funny to watch some people just ignore this one when they have embeen screaming about Jay

It’s just a trolling thing. Everybody is coming around to the idea that LIV is watering down golf, but the trolls here just like to laugh.

Sucks for the average golf fan who just wants to see guys playing together.

You're acting like LIV is an underdog in all of this. It is actually way more surprising that all of the top players didn't bolt right way. The PGA is in serious trouble, but glad you are happy.

Of course I won’t. One is a player the other is the commissioner of the PGA. A players only job is to do what’s best for himself. The commissioner has much more responsibility. That should have been clear to you.

Baseball will be a much tougher play for a number of reasons in my opinion

The amount of money required would be incredible
The tradition and fan allegiance tied to a geographical brand is incredible, especially ones with the tradition of a Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs etc
Singular stars don’t move the needle in baseball like they do football or the NBA

That’s just off the top of my head. I think it would be a terrible investment even from a sports washing perspective. The NBA is the obvious target if you’re going after a US team sport and even that has a lot of issues

I like more golf. LIV gives me the opportunity to watch more golf. Rahm not being in the Byron Nelson doesn’t move my meter at all.
