First off, we're talking about right now, where they're both averaging 5.6 YPT.

Second, let's let Taylor become a bruising back on a terrible team for 5 years, and i guarantee you his YPT fall.

And using 2nd year guys rookie seasons to supplant them ahead of Fournette is dubius, remember Fournette was a 1000 yard rusher as a rookie and in his 3rd year (he got hurt year 2), on a god awful team

No, they don't remember that

14 receptions for 197 and 1 score

This is some impressive selective editing here. When Jacobs was brought up, you compare his last two years to Fournette’s best years(his 1st and 3rd) but now you just want to look at a 5 game sample size from 2021 to prove that he’s better than Jonathan Taylor. You’re either trolling or just not very smart

He’s having a good game. Y’all need to calm down. Mark Ingram had a good game week 1.

This was a function of his team pounding him more than anything. A workhorse back in a run-first offense doesn’t have an excuse to not break 1000.

Didn’t break 4 yards/carry his rookie year. 19th of 30 in YPC among those with 150 rushes in year three.

He’s not terrible or anything but he is pretty much always going to be as good as his line.

People still taking about Saquon as a good RB…

He never plays. Always hurt. He’s a bust until proven otherwise. He hits a big run every 3-4 games which is 2x a year at his current games played rate. Mostly he averages 2yds per carry. I’ll believe it when I see it but until then he’s somewhere between Cadillac Williams and Trent Richardson.

I quoted you asking about how Taylor and Fournette are the same player statistically.

Additionally, we're talking about RIGHT NOW. So I don't see how this is some "Random 5 game sample size"

Because in your case that Fournette is better than Josh Jacobs you went back and looked at Fournette’s 1st and 3rd seasons. So you only want to look at “right now” when it’s convenient.

Furthermore, even if we are looking at “right now” 5 games is still a small sample size.
Not one team in the NFL would take Fournette over Jonathan Taylor for the rest of the season. Not one.

I mentioned Fournette's earlier seasons because you used that a baseline as to why certain players were better than him.

Josh Jacobs had a good first two seasons, so, while his numbers are worse than Fournette's right now, he is better than Fournette. See how that's a bad argument? He has shown less than Fournette has this season.

Jonathan Taylor’s rookie season is still relevant because that’s who he is right now. Fournette’s 1st and 3rd seasons are not at all relevant in a discussion about right now

Josh Jacobs has played 3 games and has 38 carries and 10 receptions. If you think that’s enough of a sample size to decide that he’s not the same guy he was last year, then you’re not smart

Fournette is 18th in DYAR and 15th in DVOA among running backs this season. Fournette is a league average running back who is blessed to be in an incredible situation.

Look at Oakland’s that offense with and without Jacobs. There’s a big difference.
