Miami and Penn State should be ahead of LSU for starters. I see no FSU either.

Miami, maybe. Penn State, absolutely not.

Boy you really care about this.

Not. A. Top. Ten. Program. Period.

They're pretty close. They're in that 8 - 12 range somewhere. Not an LSU fan or SEC fan, either.

Da fuq?

Penn State had like 7 undefeated seasons, beat Georgia when nobody in the SEC could fricking beat them and then beat the greatest team of all-time - at the time - in 1986 Miami...

And then had arguably the best offense ever behind 2005 USC in 1994 PSU.

From 1968 to 1987 PSU lost 37 games in 20 years. That's 1.8 games a year average.

LSU was around in the 50's disappeared during Vietnam and Watergate and Space shuttle disaster...

Then came alive in 2003 winning their first SEC title in over 15 years.

If Penn State isn't 2nd tier than LSU is 3rd tier and that's just the facts.

LSU has 3 titles to Penn State’s 2, for starters, and 2 of LSU’s were more recent than Penn State’s.

That winning/undefeated seasons stat is deceiving. Penn State’s schedules for almost all their history were terrible until the late 1970’s. Check out those “undefeated” schedules they played in 1968, 1969, and 1973 - they played a combined two ranked teams in three regular seasons, mostly under-resourced regional programs and service academies. They were UCF before there was a UCF. They had zero major bowl wins until the late 60’s, and that wasn’t because they refused to play in them like Minnesota or Notre Dame.

Paterno carefully cultivated an image of being a blue blood, but it was largely a farce. That program wasn’t taken seriously at a national level until the late 1970’s for a good reason.

Edit: Take a look again at that chart posted on the last page from CFB Warehouse up to 2016. They (and Miami, who did the same thing up until the 80’s) are terrible in schedule points compared to the rest of the top 15. And their winning percentages are higher as a result.

This is rich from a fan of a school that suddenly discovered football in the 2000's.

You'd think you'd need more than 1 title in the past 70 years to still be considered a blue blood.

A split title at that

I've been an LSU fan for almost fifty years. Like I said, brush up on your history a little.

Yes, Clemson leads the pack of the New Bloods and could push a lesser Blue Blood out in the next decade or so.

I have to say. I've beyond impressed with what Swinney has done at Clemson.

I second this as another non-LSU fan.

Minnesota is nothing more than Big Ten Ole Miss (reasons being opposite side of the same coin).

Didn't LSU lose at home to Bama for 31 years?

Yeah, he’s just trying to get a rise out of y’all and is just pissy his team just got embarassed. Everyone who knows anything about college football has LSU as a Top10-15 all-time program.

He clearly doesn’t like LSU, which is odd considering Bama has owned LSU recently. That tells you everything you need to know about his character.

Looks like 17 here

78 wins from being even number 10. That's 7 seasons of football.

And if you do it by winning percentage further down the page, L9U isn't even top 27.
