It is, and it will be really bad for the award if Stroud wins it this year. The Bucks do have a great offense this year, but I honestly put Stroud in the middle of the pack for reasons why. A couple of linemen, the RB, and 3 WR's are all more impressive than him on an individual level.

He already was.

I mean, they have the worst pass D in all of college football. He padded the stat sheet today, but he's already faced 10 teams that were better.

Man. His sports takes are as bad as his politics takes, but I wouldn’t expect good sports takes (or any takes at all) from a progressive Seattle Public Radio talk show host.

Maybe, but he's undeserving, along with the rest of the candidates this year
How can every candidate be undeserving?

Between Young and him IMO but Stroud lighting up Sparty early. And yes I know their pass d sucks

Neither deserves it.

Stroud is probably one of the worst offensive players on his own team. His elite WRs get wide open play after play.

If Bama loses to UGA or anyone else, it’s hard for me to get excited about a QB of one of the worst Bama teams of the Saban era winning.

I wish guys outside the playoff hunt would get attention. If you ask me who is most important to their team’s success, I think it’s Matt Corral.

Bryce Young is also putting up video game numbers against a better defense.

No. Be serious.

It's Young, then a gap, then the field. Another Bama loss may not bring him back to the pack

Bryce deserves it.

Alabama would have 4 losses without him.

Stroud has WAY better weapons, a WAY better OL, a WAY better run game.

Lulz. Mac Jones, Tua, Hurts, Sims, Coker, McCarron

Name the last QB to struggle in Alabamas system. It's about as plug and play as any in the country.

GTFO. If any defensive player should win it would be Will Anderson. Hell, he's the best player in football this year.

Hurts definitely struggled as a passer early in career. And Sims and Coker didn’t exactly light it up. Decent seasons but no where near elite. McCarron never put up huge numbers,

Just look at the numbers. Alabama has the lowest rushing YPG and ypc average of any Bama team under Saban right now. Bama’s OL is also on pace to allow the most sacks and TFLs of any team since at least 2007. Some of the sacks are on Young but he’s still avoided more sacks compared to statues like McCarron and McElroy. Alabama would 100% have lost to Florida, LSU, and Arkansas today without him.

I don’t disagree with you but there have been better defensive players that didn’t win it. It’s an offensive award.

The funniest thing is, of all the all-time great defensive players in CFB history, Manti Te’o came the closest of any pure defensive player to winning the award. All it would have taken is A&M losing to Bama and Manziel would’ve lost to Te’o.
