The Panthers have one of the worst WR corps ever +
below average OL + below average RBs
Outside of Kalil and Olsen, Cam doesn't have a single offensive teammate that would even make the practice squad of any other playoff team

False. It's a statistical driven award just like the Heisman.
but when Cam was putting up ridiculous numbers his first couple of seasons, people kept saying it didn't matter because the wins weren't following
make up your mind

11 touchdowns and 8 interceptions
That is pathetic

The Panthers are a great team, but he has never had an MVP worthy season even in his best years of "ridiculous" stats.

Not sure if you really are a Falcons fan or not. If you are, however, please kindly STFU!
Your QB couldn't beat Jameis Winston with a top 5 RB and the number one WR in the game.

A nice addition to the discussion (from the SB Nation 49ers site):
Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton aren't remotely the same player (LINK)

quote:
While watching his tape over the past couple days, I couldn’t help but think how Newton is now the player Kaepernick was supposed to become. A true dual-threat quarterback capable of playing at a high level from the pocket and making something out of nothing with his preternatural athleticism when the play appeared to be exhausted. A quarterback capable of lifting the players around him above their talent levels and making his team competitive just by stepping on the field. This is what we thought we were getting from Kaepernick when he set the league on fire during the 2012 Playoffs.
Now, those days feel like lifetime ago. After watching him stagnate over the past two seasons, I don’t know if Kaepernick will ever get to the level of play we’re currently seeing from Newton, at least in San Francisco. But the one thing I do know is that anyone who thinks Kaepernick and Newton "are basically the same player" isn’t paying attention.

Their best receiving threat is Olsen. He's playing great, but he's 30 and he has battled his fair share of injuries.
Philly Brown looks good, but they need an explosive receiving threat. Benjamin isn't explosive. He's big and you just pray he doesn't drop the ball.
Stewart is 28 but he has been in the league a while and although he doesn't really have a lot of miles, he does get injured and he's not going to be an every down kind of back.
Carolina needs to give Cam a first round talent at WR if they want that offense to get off the ground.

Holy shite.

I have never, in my life, seen someone obsessed with a single player on a message board the way you are with Cam.
Takes dedication.

So Cam fans, was Wilson MVP the last 2 years?

Nope. But he *was* given serious consideration across the board of the NFL media and nobody seriously disagreed with them.
And, just to say it again since you obviously don't comprehend your reading very well, *no* Auburn and/or Cam fan in this thread has said that Cam SHOULD be MVP. We have only stated that Cam getting MVP *consideration* is totally fair and valid.

He arguably was the year before last

With the way Brady is playing, no one else should be in consideration. It's a one man race at this point. I'm kind of surprised that people are even debating it.

Cam is impressing me thus far this year. I say he is the mvp thus far. He doesn't have as much to work with as Brady and the coach like Brady has.beat the packers this week and he has to be the number 1 contender IMO.

Go away. The crap is getting old and anyone that keeps brining it up is childish and stupid. Grow up.
