Didn't his defense waste a 2 score lead, followed by Ben leading a game winning drive with one hell of a pass into triple coverage?

2nd Super Bowl btw

Yes, ok, he also has one of the best o-lines in the NFL.

I agree with most of your post... but not this. His line is average.

This might be the worst thread I've ever seen on here.

The people that keep saying he's just a product of his team are a special type of moron. He's finished the top-5 3 of the last 4 years in passer rating. That's a regular season stat, and he hasn't has a good line or running game the last few years. He wins a lot, but he's a great QB when you consider him individually.

He's a top-5 QB. DEAL WITH IT.

I'm guessing the fact he has the most 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives than any other QB (since he's been in the league) is attributed to his defense as well?

The guy is a winner. I don't care if he takes the "sometimes you have to take the pussy" idea too literal. He's a damn good QB.

This is the problem, he's a very good quarterback. Unfortunately, lazy morons like to look at a team achievement (championships) as a measure of a player's greatness. The word "overrated" doesn't mean the guy sucks, it means he gets way more credit than he deserves. This seems to happen often w/ QBs who happen to play on championship teams that rely on other great aspects besides the passing game to attain that success.

+2. He would have no super bowls with a middle of the road defense.

Again, nobody is saying he sucks. Often those game winning drives are necessary because the defense has kept the team in the game through his mediocrity. Is the reason the team needs 4th quarter comebacks not on him at all? Sure you can point out great examples of individual drives. What does that really mean? As a whole, we all know the Steelers are a defense-first team. I'm not saying he's the weak link, but there are at least 10 other QBs in the league that you could plug into that team and have the same success.

If you put Ben on the Colts, do you think they're as good? What about the Saints or Patriots? We all know the answer to that, so why is anybody comparing him to the QBs of those teams? Simple, he's overrated. Doesn't mean he sucks, just means he's not as good as some make him out to be.

Could very well be attributed to playing shitty for 3 quarters and then pulling it out in the end.

that was great, again I'm not saying he's the most overrated qb in history or even the nfl. He's definitely a top 6 qb...but to debate him against Brady (the original context) is just crazy.

he's up there.

Too many in the media (and not doubt in this thread ) Have just taken this notion of judging QB's on titles to a biazzare level. On the whole ida of "clutch" plays. Its not worth debating anymore really. People believe what they want.

Guy plays like shite for 56 minutes, completes a key pass on 3rd down and he's a guy that makes "winning" plays because his team won the game. Never mind the margin of victory was a defensive TD.

The thing about Ben is that the stats do him NO justice at all. At the end of the day, the guy makes the plays to win. It's not always pretty, but he does it. And I think that's what makes QB's great. I don't personally think he's better than Brady, but you have to respect the guy.

If the defense is keeping you in a close game and giving you a shot at the end when your offense is struggling then indirectly yeah it is.

I don't disagree. He's up there with Vick and Rodgers in terms of guys that are actually exciting to watch (Manning and Brady are excellent, but not always exciting).

Ben makes some marvelous plays. He's just not "the greatest" QB ever... he may not even be top 5 in the league right now...

This is what you get when SUPER .edu guys try to out think the room.

I've lost count how many games Big Ben has WON games for the Steelers. Of coarse it's a fricking team game and it takes an entire team effort.

frick stats.....You are a moron.
