His 6 Super Bowls are what he will be remembered for.

He has more rings than Auburn fans have teeth, he'll be remembered. Does anyone talk about how bad Bill Walsh was his second time at Stanford?

During the first Super Bowl run the pats won a Super Bowl with Terrific Tom throwing one, yes ONE, TD the entire playoffs

I have a soft spot for UNC, but the Belichick experiment makes clear how little their decision makers know about how winning football programs are built.

I think they legit thought that they could hire him, raise some NIL, and just have 5*s and elite transfers beating down their door.

It’s not totally surprising, in a way. Basketball is a little more that way, which is what UNC knows.

Defensive coordinator Steve Belichick will make $1.3 million, according to a UNC System salary database, and offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens will make $1.15 million in 2025. The program's coordinators combined to make $2.1 million last year. Brian Belichick (defensive backs/safeties): $500,000 in 2025, $525,000 in 2026.

Agreed, looks like a money grab to me. Were there any other college or nfl teams beating down the door for his services? Unc are suckers.

That they can't see the obvious grifting going on by Bill, his kids, his friends, and his friend's kid make them seem like rubes. UNC football isn't a powerhouse but it's not a doormat either. Very weird they're letting themselves get used like this.

Look what Brady did without him. Took a completely irrelevant team since 2003 and won the SB.

Wait a minute now, don’t get me wrong, Brady is the GOAT and because of that he could’ve named his post NE destination. People forget that the season before he arrived in TB Winston had 33 TDs and 5,000 passing yards… he also just happened to have 30 INTs And I think TB was around .500 that year.

My point is, Brady wasnt going to choose a team where he didn’t think he couldn’t win right away.

Good post. I'll add he was on the sidelines at the end of the superbowl against the Seahawks. Brady is a legend, but football is a team game.

It shouldn’t be.

But people don’t really think deeply about many things, so yeah his legacy will take a big hit.

No, give him at least 2 years. One thing we’ve learned since the portal’s been open in college football is first year coaches almost always underachieve. Too many players leave and they haven’t been active in the portal- the first season is a lost season.
We’ve seen a reaction this year for coaches getting fired in September, so the teams can get an earlier start on hiring a replacement

No it's not. A first year coach just beat the shite out of him. Just last year we saw Indiana, A&M, Duke, and Syracuse have a ton of success. If anything the portal has made immediate turnarounds easier if you know what you're doing. Carolina's problem is Bill and Lombardi did a terrible job at talent identification.

That's Bills only claim to fame without Brady.

Again, there's really no argument here. Look what Brady did without him.

Exactly

Tampa Bay Super Bowl was a combination of Brady and luck. Getting to play in an empty Superdome vs Saints

That part was beyond work. That was a gift from JBE and LaToya.

His legacy is fine. The UNC shite does not matter at all. He went to a totally different level of football from anything he ever did during the height of his career, and he did it at fricking 70 lol.

If anything, Brady winning in Tampa “hurt” Belichick’s legacy more than UNC.

Let’s put it this way… everyone except apparently Belichick and UNC knew this was going to be a total disaster beforehand. And before this, we all said Belichick was an all time great. Was this disaster that we all saw coming not baked into that evaluation? If we all thought he was an awesome coach and just not a good fit for the college game today, why would him going out and proving us right change our answer?
