Is Andrew Bynum the second best C in the league?

Nobody argues Dwight Howard is #1, but with what Bynum is doing tho season and in the playoffs, I think he is #2. Obviously this is dependent on him not being a little bitch about everything; but with the right attitude he is a beast

He is closer to 1 than anyone else is to 2.

What makes Howard so much better than Bynum anyway

He's a better defender by a long shot, and he may not have the offensive arsenal of Bynum but he makes up for it with brute force and size IMO

They should start arguing then. Bynum is playing out of control.

This. I wouldn't say Bynum is better than Dwight but they're closer now more than ever. Bynum is out of control and Dwight hasn't exactly been as dominate as he usually is this year.

Also, with the way DeMarcus Cousins progressed this year and how badly he wants to play on the US team, he may start getting into contention as the best center as well.
He still fully doesn't utilize his size down low, but once he does, he can be very scary.

He needs to stop getting so worked up about stuff. Last night he thought his shot was goal tended and he almost got teed up, but the ball went right to Sessions and they scored anyway, so I dk why he can't just let it go

Yeah there should be an argument. Bynum is finally healthy and that is big difference. Bynum is better offensively and getting real good defensively. I think reached his peak. I dont know if he can improve.

I'll probably get railed for even thinking of it, but you can definitely make an argument that he was the best player on his team this season in terms of production and efficiency.

You could, but I do not think I would agree with it. However, they definitely need to increase his usage.
If Kobe would pass it down to Bynum more, then their team would be so much more efficient.
The frustrating thing about Kobe is his shot selection is awful. He shoots like 45% on circus shots, which is actually amazing. However, it is still 45%.
The combination of more touches for Bynum and a better shot selection for Kobe would make the Lakers the favorite in the West. However, this simple solution will not happen.

Dwight
Bynum
Gasol, Horford
Chandler, Lopez, Noah
Hibbert
Bogut, Jefferson/Nene
Harder than I thought. There are a lot of above-average centers but few great centers. I had a ton of trouble ranking 3-11 so I am sure everyone will disagree with my final rankins.
But yeah, Bynum is the second best center in the league.

quote:Yea, i guess as he gets older, he's trying to avoid the contact and wear and tear more, and just settling for bad jumpers.

But, he actually shot 43% this year, which is not good, that's why you can make an argument for Bynum, imo.

Definitely, it would make Kobe so much more efficient.
Purely speculating here, but instead of taking 23 shots to score 28 points, Kobe could take 18 shots to score 25, thus increasing his efficiency and maybe shooting 46% or so.

This. What's scary is that there are guys who can physically match-up with Dwight. There is no one who is a physical match-up for Bynum. Hell Oden was around the same size, but that dude was born with a 56 year old's knees and a Redd Foxx face so he had no chance.

Not sure if this was supposed to be in order but Gasol Chandler Jefferson Lopez and Bogut are better than Horford

Horford should be a PF anyways. Josh Smith would be a better SF than PF. The Hawks should experiment with a Teague/Johnson/Smith/Horford/ZaZa line-up next year. IMO at least.
After Dwight and Bynum, I'd probably put Bogut/Jefferson/Gasol at number 3. Two way players. Noah and Chandler are great defensively and have decent efficient offensive games, but they are so limited and I never feel that they area threat in any game to go for 25 points. After hose type guys you get into your Gortats and Pekovics and such.

Bynum is a much better FT shooter than Howard. That has moves then much closer together.
I don't see how you can hold Bynum being a bitch against him anyways.
1. Howard is one of the biggest bitches in the NBA.
2. Bynum has grown up in the NBA playing along a huge prick of a teammate.

Didn't Bynum just have a 10 block performance recently??? To say Howard is a way better defender is Bynum is simply not true.
