Didn't Bynum just have a 10 block performance recently??? To say Howard is a way better defender is Bynum is simply not true.

Howard is clearly a better defender.

I don't know why that's being debated here.

I've said all year that if injuries weren't an issue I'd take Bynum. To me, there's more separation between his offensive game and Dwight's than there is between the two defensively, not to mention that he can actually make free throws.

Well yeah Dwight is the better defender but it's not like he's a defensive God and Bynum is an idiot on that end of the court. Let's say Dwight's defense is a 10. Noah and Chandler would be 9.5s. Bynum would be a 9. Steve Nash/Stephen Curry on this same scale would be 1s.

No. He's more versatile, but he's not better. Sideshow Bob is another underrated but versatile bib man defender, but no one alters offensive game plans like Dwight. He makes their backcourt of Nelson, Reddick, Richardson, and Duhon look like good defenders (they are average at best).

This, while i feel Dwight is the better defender. There is definitely room for debate.

He is more versatile and thats why he is better Howard is really good at protecting the rim so is Chandler. But Chandler is a much much better pick and roll defender

There is no one who is a physical match-up for Bynum

DMC. He already is one of the top reboubders in the league. He ended the year playing like a top 3 C. If he continues to grow, he will be every bit as good as Howard/Bynum

Depends if you count Kevin Love in the Center category.

If you are counting Al Jefferson and Nene in that category then Love should be too. Love for sure is up there with Howard and Bynum.

Good call, forgot all about him. Monroe is doing Georgetown's Center University legacy some justice now.

Kevin Love is a power forward plain and simple. Jefferson is a post player through and through so I don't know what he and Love have to do with each other than the fact that they are both big men.

Nah, I'd put him #3 behind Marc Gasol right now. If Bynum was mentally and physically there I'd put him @ 2....but dude has the mindset of a little 12 year old.

Dwight

Gasol
Bynum

Who gives a shite about his attitude? He's the second best center in the NBA and the gap is narrow. GTFO of here with Marc Gasol. He's not even the best big man in his own family and if Pau played Center, he'd better than Marc at that too.

You sound angry little man

And his shitty attitude negatively affects his play and his team's play....so it does matter. Gasol > Bynum, if you watch how they play and don't just look at the stats.

And if you watched them play you wouldn't say the shite that you said, Bro von Brostein.

Dwight has led the entire NBA the past 3 seasons in defensive rating and defensive win shares.

There is zero argument or debate, HOward is clearly better defensively.

Forgot about him. He has been a very pleasant surprise. Pistons have an interesting team, minus Gordon and Villaneuva

I think Bynum v. Howard will be an argument in a year or so.

Thats awesome! But im not talking about the past 3 seasons. This season, Bynum has been injury free and has really come into his own and his confidence has soared for whatever reason (new coach? Odom gone? im not sure). So far this postseason he has been a defensive force and for future seasons to come, he is only going to get better and I feel he will enter the conversation with Howard and Chandler as to who is the top defensive center in the league.
