Your most recent post was about Zachary. I don’t care about Zachary. I’m talking about Catholic.

The fact you can’t figure out the relevance is telling

Something has to give when both the public and private classifications have first time champions within your logic. You just need to think really hard and use that brain of yours

I think something should also be said about teams in 5A playing 5 games in playoffs vs D1 playing what 3 games?

It’s much more difficult winning 5 games in a row traveling all over the state then winning 3 games and traveling south of I-10.

You don’t think that OL and QB specifically won’t be miles better than they were in week 1?
there aren't many QBs in the state better than Mumphrey

the overall quality of opponent is much greater though in d1. Its a push

I’m sorry I’m not using your dumbass logic of Catholic and Zachary winning state titles for the first time since the split happen.

That’s subjective. I’m pretty sure some of the typical 5A powerhouse teams would say differently.

Sorry you’re getting your Catholic panties in a wad because Catholic couldn’t win a state title until the split happened.

Let me explain it to you

You claim “Catholic never would have won a combined title because they didn’t ever do it before”

So your logic, to remain consistent, would also say “Zachary never would have won a combined title because they didn’t ever do it before”

So, in your brilliant world, neither the private nor public champ in 2015 and 2017 would have won if they were simply combined

Although true, that run they made those two years were incredible. Last year's run was likely the most impressive title run on state history in terms of beating two behemoths like Evangel and Curtis.

I know Zachary fans I've met all said WM would have whipped Catholic last year like a drum as they matched up tremendously against them.

Just their two cents. Didn't seen any hate towards Catholic, just match ups.

I never said that. The only thing I stated is that they didn’t win a state title until the split happened. Could they have won a state title had the split never happened? Sure, but odds certainly increased when the split happened

Well of course. I would never argue this, and if this is your only point then I agree

I agree about the 5 games, but even at that, how many public 5A teams could’ve made the run Catholic made in the playoffs last year? St. Aug, Evangel, and Curtis? Yes the split is a joke, but that doesn’t disqualify a D1 team from being one of the best teams in the state.

Only Zachary could have possibly beaten those three teams in a row last season.

Or that Rummel team either in 2015.

Anyone who says otherwise doesn't watch the games.

I still think Zachary is the second best team in Louisiana and the loss to Catholic at the final whistle was because their top three linebackers were all out against a dominant team.

No one seems to play musical chairs on defensive line quite like Zachary either. Every year they tinker with a multitude of lineups and situational downs until they get the right mix. By years end they are destroying a-holes. Remember it in their run in 2015 and last year. Their depth is impressive.

Their coach (Davidson) retired after last season.

Extremely young. Supposedly they will have their fastest team in memory (2010) in a couple years.

Extremely fast but young and make mistakes.

See how they do come Playoffs first.

you know certain teams improve more than others as the season goes on... the Ehret that went to West Monroe in week 1 won't be the same Ehret you see in the quarterfinals on the West Bank

Agreed!! The officiating in that game was horrible!!

Looking at the power rankings, I guess both of these teams could end up on the same side of the bracket
