Yep and Williams is a solid safety and is just a rookie. Gotta wonder if this doesn't shatter his confidence moving forward.

If he's got a good head on him it will make him a better player. Just depends what his mentality is following today.

Kids got a great head on his shoulders.
This was the first play that got by him all year
He played deep safety the entire year and nothing got past him.
Young secondary shite happens but that was bad.
Bet he is a pro bowler before all is said and done. He had the int that got us back in the game and 5th on the yr

You need to learn a little bit more about this game before commenting on it. LOL

He's a safety. There were two defenders underneath.

You can't have defenders at the goal line when an out ofbounds completion inside the 40 could result in a game winning FG

The safety doesn't get the luxury of not only missing the tackle, but not even making contact w the receiver, much less knocking down the only other guy who could make the tackle. LMAO

Funny thing is that the receiver didn't even appear to know he should get out of bounds, and if the other defender had not been knocked down, he mayhave tackled Diggs inbounds and clock would have run out.

One of the worst parts is that the winner of this game is very likely in the SB, so that missed tackle will be seen as costing the Saints a spot in the super bowl. Philly has a shot of course but the winner of this game was always going to be in a good position to win the NFC. Tough loss for the Saints and tough for Williams, will be hard to forget that play.

Notoriously shitty in these types of situations.

Best of luck to the kid.

Vikings had another TO.

Your theory is poop. Enjoy watching the super bowl from the couch. Just like the Saints will be doing.

Where were the guys standing at the goal line to prevent a fluke TD?

What? They were fighting to keep them out of FG range. That pass was designed to get them into FG range. The goal was to catch it and stop the clock out of bounds, that’s what the saints were defending too.

Marcus Williams is a safety, there aren’t supposed to be people behind the safety. He was the last level of defense, and the play was there for him to make. He just didn’t.

And to add more misery too that statement, this game might have been the last real chance for Brees to make it back to the NFC Championship/Super Bowl.

He turned 21 this past fall, and had an extremely productive rookie year. I’d bet just about anything the team leaders will make sure he gets right. He’s no dummy. He scored a 34 on the wonderlic if I remember, hopefully h doesn’t get too down on himself for too long. He has a bright future if so.

The saints have had two good drafts and are building a solid young core. 3 of the 4 qbs in the title games are named bortles, keenum, and foles. I’d say we should get another crack at the playoffs or two.

Don't the Saints still probably lose with an averagely tough FG if Diggs gets tackled?

Rahim Moore lasted one more year in Denver, ended up in Houston, and now I think he’s out of the league entirely. His career took a plummet after that play.
