So you think everyone who watched in back in the day cared about the game? Lol. Old and naive much?

The older it got the less the game mattered. I will give ya that. But it wasn't till about 1995 until the games QUALITY AND meaning wore off.

A NICE debate!!! I like this. I think I am Right, and you think you are!! Thats what this board should be about.

BUT the older NFL is STILL BETTER!!!

A debate is when two opinions are on equal footing and each side has a case.

You have nothing but opinions, I have facts mixed with mine.

Are you a liberal by any chance? How is allowing a player to make as much money as possible in the open free market a bad thing? I do agree with you about how watered down the NFL has become though. It's been particularly bad over the past six seasons with all these 9-7 teams and Wild Card teams making it to or winning the Super Bowl.

Actually, free agency is very pro-labor, which is a very liberal concept. But go ahead "thinking" as you are...

That depends on how old you are. Bob Griese threw only 7

passes in SB #8. Tell me that will happen again.

That was an anomaly, even in that era. Can you at least TRY to be intellectually honest here, PJ?

and depth of quarterback play is at highest since the late 80's, early 90's.

QB play was at its best 95-99 with, Favre, Kelly, Moon, Elway, Marino, Young, Bledsoe, Testeverde, Chandler etc

FA was good for for the NFL PJ. You dont know what you're talking about.

If it wasnt for FA the Saints would have never won a SB.

It actually helps the employers as well. Get rid of those who aren't performing to standard and bring in the best candidates as well. Contracts - outside of bonuses - aren't guaranteed, so an employer can cut ties with any employee (player) at any time for whatever reason they want - which is a very conservative principle.
