Indiana would be the better story and the better coaching job. Probably would stand out more just because of their history, name brand wise it qould be a bigger shock than even 1984 BYU.

Better team? Who would win H2H? I realize I'm an LSU fan here but that team had firepower I honestly just don't think anyone team would stop. That Auburn game people like to bring people up so much was a product of a bad field, a bad day, shite like our own reciver deflecting an easy TD pass to the open receiver behind him. Just one of those weird days. And even despite that, it was a 2 score deficit most of the way, Auburn kicked a FG at the very end to get it within 7 and then LSU just bled the clock instead of scoring again and just ended the game. I honestly thought the Florida and Bama games that year were much more in jeopardy later in the game than Auburn was, i dont remember being that stressed in the Auburn game.

2025 Indiana is scoring 42 and giving up 11 a game. 4th in scoring offense and 2nd in scoring defense. Keep in mind they pulled their starters in the 4th in over half of their regular season games this year.

2019 LSU scored 48 points a game but gave up 22 a game. They were 1st in scoring offense but 32nd in scoring defense. They kept their starters in late into the 4th in all but 3 regular season games.

Sure
But look at the competition of who they played and average margin of victory

42-11 is 31. 48-22 is 26. They have you on average margin of victory dude.

LSU beat 7 teams that finished ranked by the AP (Texas was barely in at 25). Indiana has beaten 5 ranked teams so far and will finish with 7 if they win out.

Incorrect. Indiana has beaten 3 ranked teams and will finish with 5, if they win out. Two of those wins would be over the same team too.

Illinois was ranked before their bowl and won.

Iowa was not ranked before their bowl but will be ranked after beating Vanderbilt.

Oregon was ranked and still is.

Ohio State was ranked before the playoffs and still will be.

Alabama was ranked before the Playoffs and still will be.

That’s 5.

They have Oregon next and they would face Miami or Ole Miss next.

Ah so you’re using ranked at the time of the game to help Indiana but using end of year ranks to hurt LSU. Texas was top 10 when they played. Makes sense.

Fact is, Indiana is only going to have 5 wins over teams that finish the season ranked, which is the criteria you’re choosing to use for LSU.

Be consistent.

No? Is reading comprehension hard for you?

I’m using year end rankings for both.

You’re listing Iowa and Illinois as a ranked win when they aren’t ranked. You think they could be ranked, and if they are they will “barely be ranked” like you noted for Texas.

Like I said, be consistent.

I mean sure, if they lose to Oregon that will be true. If they beat Oregon it’s 6. If they beat Miami/Ole Miss after that makes 7. Not sure what’s so hard to understand about that.

Never would I have imagined that most vanilla take you could make right now is that Indiana will win the national title.

You’re listing teams that aren’t ranked as ranked wins. I know you’re slow, but come on.

They are by the CFP and will likely be in the final AP Poll.

Illinois is 9-4 and will likely be ranked by one if not both polls.

“Likely”

So not actually ranked. Got it.

You can make this thread after they’re actually ranked if you want. Just make sure to downplay those ranked wins because they’re barely in the top 25 just like you did with Texas. I know you’re totally unbiased with all things LSU.

Cool.

Texas was ranked 10th when LSU beat them. I don’t see anyone listing them as a top 10 win for that team.
