wasn't terrible throw. but plays like that are the difference between "really good" and "great".

Bonds 1992/1993 seasons were far better than any season Trout has ever had. Yes Bonds seasons before 1992 were not as good as Trout's but the bar is raised now.

like has been said before, we don't know what Trout's prime will be and if this is it or not.

so let's just look at the two through the same points in their careers.

First 5 full seasons (i'm not counting a late season callus that lasted less than a month):

Trout: .310 / .410 / .564 ; 163 HR ; 481 RBI ; 173 OPS+
1 Rookie of the Year, 2 MVPs (never finished lower than 2nd), 5 All Stars, 5 Silver Sluggers

Bonds: .265 / .358 / .479 ; 117 HR ; 337 RBI ; 133 OPS+
1 MVP (no other top 10 finishes), 1 All Star, 1 Gold Glove, 1 Silver Slugger


Trout hands down had the best first 5 seasons of the two.

Hell, Trout's AVERAGE season is about even with Bonds' BEST season

Trout (avg): .310 / .410 / .564 ; 33 dingers ; 96 RBI
Bonds (best): .301 / .406 / .565 ; 33 homers ; 114 RBI

they should be.
age 27 & 28 is when you should really be hitting your peak.

but go look at his comparable hitters by age.
until age 31 his closest comp was not a hall of fame at any age. His list is Justin Upton, Grady Sizemore, Shawn Greene type guys.

Trout so far has comps of almost only hall of famers
Frank Robinson and Mickey Mantle (3 times).
