Basically anyone saying "not close" for either guy is just not being very smart.

Here is my reason for saying this. Walker carried the ball like 30 times a game Numerous times while at UGA. I don't see Bo being able to take that kind of punishment and keepdoing what Walker did.

so Bo isnt better when he can get the same amount of yards with 100 less carries?

I never said taht. In collegfe it was WALKER at UGA and thats it. At AU They ran a different offense. Yes BO had a more explosive O to work with. BUT UGA DOES NOT win a title without Walker. AU would have been just as good without BO. AND I don't think UGA does as well with Bo if he had been there during the time Walker was ther. Not sure you even saw them both play in college, But I stand by my statement that...... IN COLLEGE its Walker. In the Pros it was BO.

BTW As far as the greatest ATHLETE Of ALL-TIME is concerned... ITS BO FACT.

Okay, you want to ignore the USFL. Fine, let's talk NFL. Bo Jackson scored exactly 18 TD's in his entire NFL career. Herschel Walker scored 14 TD's his first season in the NFL, and 38 TD's his first four years. The most TD's Bo Jackson ever scored in a single season was 6. Herschel Walker scored 7 TD's in his 12th year of professional football.

Bo Jackson gained over 1,000 yards of combined rushing and receiving one season in his career, 1,019 in 1989. During Walker's first 4 years in the NFL he gained, 1,574, 1,606, 2,019 and 1,338 yard from scrimmage. Walker's worst year, 1989 coincidently, was better than Jackson's best. And we haven't even included special teams play. Walker had 2 kickoff returns for TD's in his career and Jackson none. Walker had over 5,000 yards of kickoff returns in his career to Jackson's zero. How about ball security? Jackson touced the ball 545 times in his carerr and fumbled 11 times, or once every 49.5 touches. Walker fumbled 41 times in 2,781 touches, or once every 67.8 touches.

All of the above excludes Walker's 3 years of playing in the USFL. Even without the USFL production, Walker was so far ahead of Jackson that it is absurd to even be having this conversation.

You do know Bo played football less than 10 games a year right? Just like in college, of course Herschel has more yards he played in more games and had a ton more carries.

Sorry you wasted your time compiling those worthless stats.

The question is not who had the most productive career. The question was "in their prime". I think it's very easy to argue that at their best Bo was better. His yards per carry is significantly higher in college and the pros.

And if I'm coaching a football team that's all you need to tell me. Give me the player who is there every game over the part timer. What am I supposed to do those other 6 games? Bo Jackson wins the Sports Center highlight award no doubt, but he did nothing to help the Raiders win the games he wasn't there.

You can have Jackson for your less than 10 games a season, and I'll take Walker. I like my chances of making the playoffs better than yours.

If you include his USFL stats, Walker had 25,283 total yards, more than anyone to ever play professional football. Bo Jackson gave you the sizzle, but Herschel Walker gave you the steak.
