I'll go ahead and say out loud what any sane person is thinking about Tiger.
If his name wasn't Eldrick Woods there would be a fork in him.
He's 46 years old. He has a rebuilt right leg that was almost amputated. It is painful for him to play golf.
Has anyone else noticed that when he talks about all the therapy/treatments/ice baths etc... that he's never said "it's improving"?
There has never been a more exciting Golfer. As I'm writing this he has pulled off another ridiculous shot on the first hole of his second round. How many times did impossible became routine with this guy?
I've been a big supporter and thoroughly enjoyed watching his work for a long time. On the golf course, he was truly like no other.
I wish it wasn't so but I'm afraid we're seeing the "New Normal" for Tiger. It's a challenge for him to walk the courses and it's a struggle to make cuts.
If his name wasn't Eldrick Woods I'd say his time has come and gone.
But I really, really, really, hope there's at least 3 days of magic left for us to enjoy.

EDIT: Originally wrote "left" leg was almost amputated. Sheesh.

If his name wasn't Eldrick Woods, you wouldn't be starting a thread talking about him. But here you are talking about the sport of golf cause Tiger is still playing regardless of competitiveness level.

Why do you feel the need to do this? Of course everyone knows tigers body is breaking down. Besides an outlier in 2019 he’s been done for a while

He's still in recovery. Yeah, he'll never be what he was again, but I think he likely has some better days ahead.

He will now build his whole year around four tournaments (majors), he hell make some noise in one or two of them when everything clicks.

He won a major 3 years ago.

Also, Phil showed last year that you can win at 50.

Granted, Tiger's body is in worse shape, but if he wants to compete, he's earned the right to compete until he doesn't want to.

That's a whole lot of words without saying anything. What's your point? He's older and injured so people should stop pulling for him?

People are still talking about Tiger because he is the GOAT….. They will be talking about him long after you and I have departed this earth.

I’ve broken my ankle and needed surgery and still have a bunch of screws in it.

It takes time for it to get more or less back to normal. It took me a couple of years. During that time, it would swell even just walking on it too much or standing for long periods.

It’s a process, and it gets better, but it takes longer than what it’s been since Tiger’s accident.

I hate to see him limping so badly but if he isn't playing I really have no interest in watching. I keep up with who wins the majors but Tiger is the only reason I would watch a tournament

I’ll watch and pull for Tiger as long as he can play. And yes I may have shed a tear or two the last major he won. There will never be another Tiger.

Nobody was better than Cantlay six months ago…Tiger is beating him by 7 strokes.

Swelling, pain, and ice is just part of the process. He’s just going through it publicly.

If we even get a chance at the glory of 2019 all over again it absolutely worth it if he can tough through the pain.

I still remember when all the Skip Bayless wannabees lined up and took their calculated shot at scoring some media points.

Then proceeded to get waffle housed by the absolute GOAT.

What do you mean?

What was the outlier?

ETA: He won at East Lake, went and won the Masters, then won the Zozo.

How so? Babysitter? Donations to him? Phone calls?
You're not a supporter, you are a fan...huge difference.

If he was younger he'd have a shot at a Hoganesque recovery. At 46, Father Time is as big of a foe as the injury.
