I wish it wasn't so but I'm afraid we're seeing the "New Normal" for Tiger. It's a challenge for him to walk the courses and it's a struggle to make cuts.
No shite. Dude almost had his leg amputated a year ago.

He’s one of the greatest champions in the history of sport. Not sure what the purpose of your thread is

Why do you feel the need to do this? Of course everyone knows tigers body is breaking down. Besides an outlier in 2019 he’s been done for a while

quote:Without question and I hope he does.
He won a major 3 years ago.
Also, Phil showed last year that you can win at 50.
Granted, Tiger's body is in worse shape, but if he wants to compete, he's earned the right to compete until he doesn't want to.

Whew, mad. Can’t wait for more of your random thoughts

quote:No. Is that really what you took from that?
That's a whole lot of words without saying anything. What's your point? He's older and injured so people should stop pulling for him?

quote:Absolutely.
People are still talking about Tiger because he is the GOAT….. They will be talking about him long after you and I have departed this earth.

quote:That so? No tears from me - but something got in my eye right about when the last putt hit the bottom.
I’ll watch and pull for Tiger as long as he can play. And yes I may have shed a tear or two the last major he won. There will never be another Tiger.

quote:Interesting. I almost included "if I have ever been a true fan of any particular athlete, it would have to be Tiger" but didn't.
How so? Babysitter? Donations to him? Phone calls?
You're not a supporter, you are a fan...huge difference.
Other than just to be a dick, why would you give a frick about the semantics?

He’s about to make his 2nd major cut and he’s outplaying the world #1. Wtf more do you want from him?

No - that kind of supporter would be holding up his balls.

If his name wasn't Eldrick Woods there would be a fork in him.
His name could be Adolph Hitler and people would still be tuning in to watch him play in majors with what he's done in his career.

There has never been a more exciting Golfer. As I'm writing this he has pulled off another ridiculous shot on the first hole of his second round. How many times did impossible became routine with this guy?
Well, there you go. You've put forward the answer to why people still tune in to watch when he's in the field.

People said the same thing after his back surgeries (myself included). Yet, he came out and did "Tiger things" at Augusta in 2019.
I will say I don't know how he's even walking around after all the shite his body has been through over the years, so my expectations for Tiger are very low. But I remind myself (as someone with back issues well before I should have any) this guy won The Masters after multiple back surgeries that would have done 99 percent of people in for good. I'll always root for the guy.
Him making the cut at a major after the kind of damage he took is a marvel of modern medicine/physical rehabilitation. And a lot to do with his will to compete.

You might be the dumbest frick on here and that’s saying a lot.

Tiger Woods was a very good golfer. I’ll never understand how the media and middle aged men fawn over a player way past his prime. He is an average player now. The media simply won’t let it go.

I’m actually not watching the PGA, simply because of the Tiger coverage. Boring!!! After the way The Masters was handled so poorly, I wasn’t going to tune in at all...but I tuned in just to see how they were covering it...all it took was 10 mins and I was done. Give other players a chance to shine for Christ sake.

Oh, and it has been established around here that anyone who remembers Doug Flutie currently and legitimately suffers from back pain...
