Missed the cut = reigning Masters champ and world current #1 Scottie Scheffler.
Made the cut and beat said #1 player by three strokes? = One limping wincing Eldrick motherfricking Woods!

Tiger Woods was the Ultimate golfer at one time, before 2010 he could do NO WRONG. He destroyed people on the golf course from a period of I wanna say 1997 up to 2010 just about. The guy should have not broken Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 majors, but shattered it and left it behind long ago. He should have over 30 majors right now, but that lil incident involving him backing out the driveway into a tree or something. Lmao Well, let's just say he's never been the same golfer since, once feared on golf courses, so feared, golfers didn't wanna show up to face him. Lol I miss that Eldrick Woods, I wish the guy had never screwed up his life because it was truly MAGIC watching him play on Sundays in the final round with that throng behind him. Smh But I guess it had to happen because he suffers from something that we all suffer from called - Human Fallacy.

The biggest problem with Tiger right now isn't his leg, it's his damn putter. I could make as many putts as he made today.

Tiger won't win another tournament period. Book it. And by the way, Jack say's hold my beer.

Getting caught by his wife had nothing to do with his struggles.
He was absolutely dominant in 2013. Did pretty well 2018-2019. The only thing that has kept him from shattering every single golf record is injuries.

But if Tiger didn’t think he could play good enough golf to belong out there, he wouldn’t be out there. He’d be doing TV… if Tiger thinks he can do it, he probably can.
And the field is so deep, we shouldn’t expect him to ever be on top again. It’s the era of DJ and Brooks and Bryson, and top 20 or top 10 should feel like a win now. Guys just get older, just how it is

I don’t understand why you typed all of that to not actually have a point

What do you call this "I wish it wasn't so but I'm afraid we're seeing the "New Normal" for Tiger"?
He's in only his second tournament back and has made both cuts in the majors he has played in and was one of only 27 players under par yesterday. What other golfer would be able to do this? None. He is still the same Tiger if not more impressive.
I am sure you'll come back with "I never meant such and such" but you took the time to make a post about his play and how if his name wasn't Eldrick Woods no one would be talking about him.

What was the outlier?
The whole season. Those three wins you mentioned are his only since 2013.

Go to any event and it’s clear who people want to see. 75% of fans would rather see a middling Tiger than the current top players. It’s a fact. It’s what sponsors want. It’s what the PGA needs.
Tiger makes bank just being out there.

Hate to tell the OP but it was his right leg not the left.

You are reading that the entire opposite of how it's written! I'm lamenting the fact that I don't think he can compete to win even though he can make cuts.
If anything, my expectation is that he won't be able to compete to win because of his age and injuries.
I wish he could complete to win but I don't expect him to.
Quit while you're behind.

Pretty sure he ended his round with 6 straight 1 putts. I think only 1 was for birdie, though. And he’s striping his drives straighter than maybe any time in his career (not nearly as far, obviously). It’s his short irons that are killing him. The best iron player in the history of the sport, from the middle of the fairway and 6-iron or lower in hand, was not even getting it close to staying on the green yesterday. At least the back 9.

I always thought I'd be full of glee to see Tiger Woods at the bottom of the leader board. I always thought he was a great golfer, but also an arrogant prick (and too many of his fans act like little schoolgirls at a Justin Bieber concert).
But he has mellowed some and you have to admire that he is trying to play under difficult circumstances. I also note that no fully healthy man here could make the cut at the PGA Championship.
