I want to say no just cause why risk it when you're about to get paid ,risk letting down your teammates, etc.

But i'm already a broke college student and would gladly take $5K right now.

I would laugh at them and ask if they meant to say $50,000

I was way too chicken to do anything against the rules like that at that age.

Maybe I'm a selfish shitty human being. But I would accept in a heart beat. ?the worst they can do to me is say I can't play college football anymore. If im good enough for the league then i will play in the league regardless. I could care less if my teammates and my school has to suffer and hate me because of it.

Wow that just sounded pretty bad, actually im pretty sure im a shitty human being with no morals. O well.

I would do it in a heartbeat and never give it a second thought. I would take just about anything anyone offered.

The NFL doesn't care if you got in trouble with the NCAA.

I'd probably take the money but I wouldn't go thaaat far

In reality, what's really going to happen? It's one isolated event of one kid taking a few grand. No systemic issue...nothing is going to happen to your teammates or the program.

Basically you'd get the same punishment that AJ Green got when he sold his jersey. Issue an apology, serve your suspension, move on with your life and be a beast in the NFL. Zero fricks given by anyone a few months later.

So yeah, I'm taking the money.

fricking right. Gimme free snatch any time. If a booster was going to give me 5K , I would have him give it to my cousin in small bills each week . When I go mow my uncle's yard , my aunt could pay me $150 for my services. At Christmas time , my uncle would buy me a 70" hd television as a gift. Or I just might find a box of money win I take take garbage to the dumpster.

depends on what it was. I recall reading in Brian Bosworth's book (he didn't write it but contributed to it) that he was paid like 400 bucks an hour to "watch an oil well" somewhere in Oklahoma in the mid 1980's while he was playing for Barry Switzer and the Sooners. That would be pretty hard for a kid in college to pass up.

I would like to see all of the honest people on here. Imagine you are in college, broke as a joke. Your idea of taking a girl on a joke is walking to the dining hall. You can't even drive because your broke down car is on E.

But a booster offers you say 5000. As a college student you have never seen that much money. Would you honestly deny it? I will be honest i would take the money in a heartbeat. Im not breaking any laws that could put me in jail... but what are your thoughts?

I'd take it. The school is making 10x that off of me.

Depends on my upbringing. If I was a D-1 athlete and was lucky enough to have been raised in a home like the one I actually grew up in, I probably wouldn't take the money and risk my eligibility. If I had a rough childhood, raised poor, etc. I would 100% accept it.

Pretty much my opinion.
