Both Bama and LSU would have there way with USC because of our lines.

Well, we don't play juggernauts like Towson or North Texas, but it is a manageable schedule after Oregon and Stanford.

and I might be wrong but I don't see 5 of 6 games on the road...anywhere on the schedule.
And LO fricking L at including Stanford as a difficult game at this point.

My bad. 4 of 5 and 5 of 7.

USC seems loaded every year not on probation by the public to win the BCS but can they haddle our depth late in the game??
USC is going to lose to Oregon at least, and possibly Utah. They have no depth on the defensive line, their starting MLB is also hurt, and most importantly, Matt Barkley is going to get his a lot this year with a true freshman protecting his blind side.
If by some chance they made it to the BCS championship game against LSU or Bama (or Georgia or Florida St), they would not be able to handle the front 7s of those teams, basically negating any percieved advantages at the offensive skill positions.

It's a concern, but it's not because of numbers.
They're all underclassmen; FR and SO with the exception of two guys.
They might be really good (looking good against the 1's on offense right now) or really bad.
We don't know.

Stanford is better than most SEC teams. I don't get the hate.

No, the West will prevail. USC is better at the offensive skill positions.
Yall try the all powerful offense wins games thing every year and then these left coast teams play a defense and dont do shite

It would be a miracle if USC makes the title game. I friggin' miracle. They have great skill players and a pretty good starting lineup but almost no depth whatsoever. For them to run the table, they basically need to go the whole year without injury, which simply doesn't happen.
They are paper thin, which will hurt them over the course of a season. With a full 85 man roster, they'd be a near shoo in for the BCSCG, but the lack of depth, particularly on the lines, will get exposed over the course of three months.
Getting through a season without injury would make them the luckiest team in the history of college football. It's possible, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Boise State isn't geographically a "left coast" team, but they did wax UGA last season. With a shitload of "left coast" players in their defense.

If Bama or LSU are like they were last year - I'd take them anyday over this USC team...right now...all things up in the air.
Wow, what a rational and well thought out post by Zamoro10. I really didn't expect to read that from you. I agree with your post 100%. Last year's LSU/Bama would win easily. But this is not last year. Bama lost a ton of key players, and now a big strength for LSU, defensive backs, is now going to have to adjust without the turnover machine roaming the field. At this point, who knows?
But we do know this, both Alabama and LSU would have the coaching advantage. The only category that closes the gap for USC in coaching ends on Feb. 8th. When it comes to actually coaching up the talent, USC is behind, especially on the defensive line.

USC has no problem winning against stiff competition. The major problem is that USC just can't win the small one's. It's always your Washington, Washington State, Kansas State, Oregon State, UCLA, California.
No disrespect to these programs, I know rivalry games are tough and all but given the talent USC has had over the past decade, schools like this shouldn't be taking USC down year in year out.

Why?
Better Defense, O line, running game & Special Teams. Basically all that USC is better at is throwing the ball & realistically we are not sure how much better they are until Mett gets on the field.

It thins us out there more, but he was a 4th string freshman. He did need PT though and to give others a break. The O will look to get huge early leads on opponents. And they mostly will.
They will choke a game or two away......happens all the time.
Having said this.....IF USCw makes it to Miami, they better hope it's not against Bama OR LSU.

WTF is this, the second Civil War?
What if it's Virginia or VPI or Clemson in the MNC game? Do they count as "the south"?

Whats the value of a "High powered offense" that never plays a defense. Put out 11 out agains those Pac-12 scrubs and we score 50 a game. People forget we scored the 17th most points per game in the country last year, in the toughest defensive conference in the country. USC had the 16th most points per game, in the PAC-12!
Also, there is no point having a "great" QB if he spends the game looking up at the sky, because we have the best DE combo in the country, and they just lost their starting LT.
