Are you saying players right out of college or have the XFL compete against Universities for players?
The latter.

Got to pump those numbers up.

The XFL will be able to attract players like Johnny Manziel or RG3. But I have a hard time believing it'll attract backups (2nd & 3rd string) from the NFL.

The going after HS prospects is an interesting thought. But I also think it's a slippery slope that has been somewhat done before with the USFL.

Would the NFLPA and/or whatever the XFL has as its equivalent firght this? As it could/would take some jobs away from fringe NFL guys.

If they are playing against other 18-24 like in college I don't see the problem.

But they won’t be.

He’d be better off trying to steal big time college players going into their sophomore or junior season than getting them straight out of high school IMO. Let them build up a name for themselves first.

Could you imagine the Rant after Vince would have offered LF $1mil to leave after his sophomore season.

USFL's prize recruit was Marcus Dupre and they pulled him from Oklahoma.

How many minor league baseball games have you watched? Is this not the EXACT SAME THING? In fact I would say the MiLB would be a superior product.
Baseball is different for several reasons.

One main difference is that the players are drafted out of high school and are in the big league system from day 1. So there is no anticipation of where they will be drafted. They're already on a club.

With football, their performance in the XFL would lead to them getting drafted or signed by an NFL team. So there is much more interest overall than a minor league baseball player.

This is literally their only advantage over the NFL.

Do they have auto first downs and spot penalties?

CFB coaches aren't developing talent for the NFL, they are developing kids to their systems. For some it works out for their future, some it hurts their development.

and OL,Wr,and QB play has suffered because of it.

At what level of college football? If you are saying the P5 and some the other schools. You are completely wrong.

Also, what makes you think that OL,WR & QB play would improve in the XFL?

Depends heavily on the caliber of coaches the XFL can get. Top tier HS talent greatly weighs their decision on the coaches at these universities and their ability to prepare them for the NFL.

If guys like Jerry Glanville are coaching the XFL, then the colleges have nothing to worry about.

If the XFL succeeds and Lavar Ball's Big Baller League fails, how much time does ESPN give to Lavar Ball?

As I said in the previous thread no star high school athlete will choose to play in the xfl over college, for 50k a year and having to pay for their own health insurance and have to deal with their own injuries. They make more than 50k from colleges in scholarship, coaching and other benefits. Plus the xfl would be dead after a year or two and no player is going to ruin getting a college degree or their NFL future for 50k. Hs basketball players pass on potential 100k from Europe now for one year. Hey get more exposure in college. Practice team players from the NFL won't play in the xfl for 5 years as a practice squad player Bc they already make more money. The league would be full of dj welter type players just like last time.

If he wants it to be a viable league he would need owners for each team and attempt what the usfl did, you would have to pay premium dollars to get the people to choose your league. But doubt Vince does this, he will want full control and pay nothing and lose his arse again.

I would imagine running backs, some of the stud linebackers, burner athletes would be the biggest beneficiaries.

If they had coaches that ran styles more similar to nfl than a lot of colleges and these guys got good coaching, I’d imagine that’s help as well.
