i was being sarcastic with my post. Basically saying why will this one game make him the goat?

Everyone considered him the GOAT when he got #5 and SuperBowl MVP

Next question.

If Peyton had played fir Belichick and had Brady's defense his entire career and played in the AFC East then Peyton would be the greatest off all time QB and Brady would likely have as many rings as Peyton.

To be a successful system QB, you have to buy into the system and realize that you are just another piece in the machine, no more critical than other parts. Peyton never would have gone along with any system. He is too self-centered and self-important. He consistently threw teammates and coaches under the bus to explain his sub-par performances. His dad wouldn’t allow Peyton to forget his importance, either.

Same goes for Brees.

More likely scenario.

If Brady is successful because of some “system,” why don’t opposing teams and coaches see it too and create a game plan to defeat the system? It doesn’t make sense. Give Tom Brady his due - he’s a fierce competitor who went from an underdog backup to the most celebrated QBs in NFL history.

will be able to argue that Tom Brady isn’t the GOAT. I don’t care what sport, he will be the GOAT of all GOATS. With today’s free agency it is amazing what the Patriots and Tom Brady have done

TEAM SPORT.............. You could say he is the GOAT as A NFL QB... But even that could be debated... I doubt he wins 6 rings playing for anyone BUT Bill...........

I like Brady. There’s no doubt he’s one of the greatest ever. But some of his fanboys act like he is solely responsible for the success of the Patriots. Patriots are an extremely well run organization and Brady always had weapons and a good enough D to win it all. Added to the fact he plays in maybe the most consistently weak divisions in the NFL, they easily make the playoffs every year. Brady is certainly great, but I don’t think he’s the GOAT QB and ppl that talk about it like it’s not debatable are annoying.

This is a good point. I don't think that he would even want to go to a system like this in the first place. He wanted to be all about him running the offense.

Yeah, yeah, and had Robert E. Lee commanded the Union army at the outset of the Civil War, it's likely the conflict doesn't last more than a year. But you know what? That didn't happen. Hypotheticals in history are fun but at the end of the day, you are still left with what did happen instead of what could have happened. And it's not like Peyton Manning played on a scrub team. They were consistently the first or second best team in the AFC.

will continue to say his defense won him a superbowl intercepting russel wilson at the goal line to win him a superbowl.

This one is such a stretch. He came back from 10 down in the fourth to pull ahead with 2 minutes left with 2 TD passed against the leagues #1 defense.

All quarterbacks are system guys. But if you take him out of that offense does he have nearly the same success?
brady went through i don't know 6 offensive coordinators, 30 different WR's, TE's, & RB's & yet he is still winning super bowls 17 years after his 1st one

The answer is subjective and dependent on infinite variables and intangibles. Has Tom Brady been the beneficiary of more of those variables and intangibles falling his way than any other QB in history? Yes.

Does that make him the GOAT? Not in my opinion.

IMHO, he doesn't even need to win the game to be the undisputed GOAT, advancing to 8 Super Bowls in 16 seasons starting (he missed 2008) and winning 5 which is more than any QB in the Super Bowl era can even contemplate claiming already renders him GOAT, winning his 6th Super Bowl(WTF?!) would only increase his margin over all the QBs that ever played the game and set a new standard and precedent for QB dominance.

Yah, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan/LeBron James, Wayne Gretzky, Roger Federer, Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, Willie "Mr. 5-Tool Player" Mays/Babe Ruth(if you're about that action), and Jim Thorpe all object to this.
