Nobody will be able to argue that Tom Brady isn’t the GOAT. I don’t care what sport, he will be the GOAT of all GOATS. With today’s free agency it is amazing what the Patriots and Tom Brady have done. To be clear, he’s already the greatest. I’m just saying that it will be universally accepted after they win again.

The real question is this. Is Tom Brady as successful outside of the pats? Shite Matt castle won 11 Gabe’s for them then flopped. All quarterbacks are system guys. But if you take him out of that offense does he have nearly the same success? Not saying he wouldn’t but you never know. The only sport where you really know how good someone is is probably basketball. Because you either can shoot or not. Baseball you can either pitch and hit good or not. But football is a lot more X’s and O’s. He is arguably the goat in football. But overall, I say no

You can argue about his scoring defenses all day, but I'd love to hear what kind of offensive system he plays in.

if tom brady loses, it will be universally accepted he is a choke artist and not the GOAT.

That was also only the second time since 2001 that the Patriots did not make the playoffs. You have to remember that Matt Cassel was surrounded by the same offensive talent that went 16-0 the year before.

He also has the HC who is going to be a first ballot HOFer. Many people consider Belichick to be one of, if not the, GOAT HC/GM. That no doubt has made a difference in how successful Brady has been.

yea when you read it that way its pretty comical huh? seems like the OP is basing a players greatness on superbowl wins doesnt it? Weird its funny when i spin it the other way.

Im getting so sick of this shite. We need to start referring to this as "greatest of all time QB". Football is such a different sport. If Peyton had played fir Belichick and had Brady's defense his entire career and played in the AFC East then Peyton would be the greatest off all time QB and Brady would likely have as many rings as Peyton. Same goes for Brees. Same goes for Rodgers. There are 22 fricking players on the field at all times in football. GOAT is Jerry Rice, LT, Lott, Payton, Tomlinson, Munoz, or some of the incredible linebackers or O lineman that have played the game

Yeah but he won 5. Hard to say choke artist even with that comparison. If he'd lost 5 and won a two maybe you could go with that argument.

Doesn't his contract get the team $10million extra in cap space?

i was being sarcastic with my post. Basically saying why will this one game make him the goat? So if he loses this one game it makes him not as good? The op is putting everything into the superbowl. Football is a team game. If someome thinks tom is the greatest ever, fine. But dont say if he wins this one game he will be, then get mad if he loses and someone else says he choked or sucks because he lost it. One game doesnt make a career.

You must not have read my entire post. I said he’s the greatest already. All this win will do is shut up just about anyone who claimed otherwise.

Matt Castle? Gabe's? Holy frick....

Cassel wasn't exactly a flop and played well when healthy, he had a lot of injuries. I mean his 2010 season showed he wasn't a one hit wonder. It just seemed every year he had some injury that would make him miss significant time.

My opinion: football is too much of a team sport to claim anyone is the greatest on championships alone.

There are many great players that have never won a championship.

Brady is a first ballot hall of fame guy but he's probably the 3rd best QB in the league right now if not lower than that.

You said he was the greatest in all sports which is dumb. To say even say he’s the GOAT NFL player is also dumb. You would’ve had a more valid argument if you said just GOAT QB.

Go Go Go

I think at some point the number of people on the field has to have something to do with it

Football is more of a team sport than basketball because it's 11 on 11. No one player can make as much of an impact as 1 great player on the basketball court.

Baseball is almost all about the 1 on 1 match ups but the quality of your overall roster is important.

i will continue to say adam vinateri won him 2 superbowls with 40+yd kicks. I will continue to say his defense won him a superbowl intercepting russel wilson at the goal line to win him a superbowl.

I will continue to say that tom ie 0-2 vs eli in the superbowl. And 1-3 vs peyton in afc championship games. So brady is 1-5 vs mannings in championship games.

No people wont universally say tgat... people will have their own opinions just like you will. Football has too many factors for one person to be the GOAT. Its a team game.
