How big of a bandwagon will ensue? Will it rival that the Red Sox bandwagon that emerged following their broken curse?

The Red Sox bandwagon was big before that.

The Cubs bandwagon is big now.

Been on it since my eyes opened!

LSU fans should at least support TheRiot and Fontenot.

I'm a Cubbies fan. Most of it came from my Great-Grandmother who watched baseball games until she passed away at 102 years old(born in 1900). She was also a huge Braves fan.

The last time the Cubs won, which was like 1908(?), she was alive and I think she would sit up in her grave if they won this year.

White Sox fans could give a shite. Unfortunately, we are foriegners in our own land. But, we got the hardware. They can stay cute and insignificant for another 100 for all I care.

Doesn't it already rival the Red Sox bandwagon?

And frick the Cubs. I like Theriot and Fontenot because they're LSU guys, but I don't ever want to see the Cubs win.

Thats what Cub haters think...that if you're not from Chicago you are a bandwagon fan.....been watching the Cubs since I can remember and would take a world series win over any LSU championship.

IMO

the baseball "hate" among so many MLB fans is pretty funny. and by funny, i mean pathetic and sad.

it is rare in the NFL and NBA but common all over baseball.

baseball has always had its weird little quirks (unspoken/unwritten rules, the only major sport where watching the scoreboard isn't good enough for some fans and some actually have to score it themselves , the never ending interleague debate, the way home field adv in the WS is awarded etc etc etc etc), but this just never seems to die. no matter how bad some of the teams are or how down baseball is in general.

in other sports, people hate who is on top. people hated the 49'ers/Rams/Patriots when they dominated, same thing with the Lakers or Celtics in the NBA, but in baseball, some more fans will hate on 1 franchise regardless of standings or time in the year.

very simlar to college football in that regard, and i think it is just as funny when i hear so many LSU fans say they "hate" USC or Texas

the hate for the cubs is pure jealousy. jealous that they have had their own network and are more popular than your team even thought they have sucked for most of my/your lifetime. jealous because so many people like them, and you can't understand why. jealous because their former TV personality is a legend because he drank more than nick cage in leaving las vegas and unless you are a brewers, mets or dodgers fan....most people can't name 1 person who does your TV or radio....basically jealous for a bunch of reasons that have nothing to do with baseball. because if it was solely based off of on the field results, the cubs would probably be irrelevant to you

I've seen a Final Four, and two NC in the big sports of college.....57984526329156265823652360 have died without the Cubbies winning a world series...I don't want to be in that #.
