He is the media's best story. That is why he will win all of the awards.

OMG

3 solo tackles against NAVY.
2 solo tackles against PURDUE.
3 solo tackles against MICHIGAN.
3 solo tackles against STANFORD.
1 solo tackle against BYU (LOL).
3 solo tackles against PITT.
3 solo tackles against Wake frickin Forrest.
3 solo tackles against USC.

ZERO. I repeat. ZERO FORCED FUMBLES.. ALL SEASON.

WHAT A MOTHER frickING BEAST. SCARY MLB RIGHT HERE.
1.5 sacks all season.

Man this guy is a GAME CHANGER right here.

No. He's a solid MLB. But he does not wow you when you watch his play. I'm sorry he doesn't. There are far better college players to play this game and have more significant impact.

He just about had no sacks, hardly any TFL, no forced fumbles, no defensive TDs, and a bunch of interceptions off tip balls and off of Denard Robinson. Most of his tackles were gang related.

Anyone got a highlight of Te'O absolutely blowing someone up. I'd love to watch that. I'm sorry the guy does not deserve the heisman. He was solid yes, but not wow.

Just real quick because Hawk was mentioned and I was at OSU for his career:

Hawk

394 tackles, 196 solo, 15 1/2 sacks, 7 ints, 13 fumbles recovered, 2 TDs, 3 forced fumbles

Te'O

427 tackles, 209 solo, 8.5 sacks, 7 ints, 1 fumble recovered, no TDs (I don't think), 2 forced fumbles

I only used Hawk because I watched him, but he may not have been the best linebacker even in the 2000s

I'm not even sure he's the best LB this year, much less the best ever.

CJ Mosley is at least equal to Te'o.

Guys, let this thread die. It doesn't deserve the cyberspace it's taking up. As I mentioned previously, he's not even top 50 of all-time.

every big play he made was him speed rushing and getting a sack

Must have been another #29 UGA defender who forced a fumble 20 yards down the field on a Florida receiver who was about to dive into the endzone with under a minute to go.

The following Miami Hurricane linebackers are better than Manti Teo:

Jonathan Vilma
DJ Williams

I think these 5 Alabama LBs were undisputably better than Teo

Derrick Thomas
Cornelius Bennett
Lee Roy Jordan
Woodrow Lowe
Keith McCants

And there are probably 5 more that you could make a good argument for.

Not saying he is better but wow Brandon Spikes had 81 solo tackles his sophomore season. 131 total.

Alabama has had 5 LBs since Saban has been here that are better than Teo.

Your logic is terrible.

For example, Ty Detmer, Troy Smith, Gino Torreta, and Charlie Ward aren't better QBs than Peyton Manning.
