Your logic is terrible.
For example, Ty Detmer, Troy Smith, Gino Torreta, and Charlie Ward aren't better QBs than Peyton Manning
it is kinda bizarre.
i cant separate whether the butthurt is stronger this year than in years past or if it just seems that way because i am an ND fan; some of these arguments just make me

I know, right?
I love the "he only has 1.5 sacks" argument. You'll note that on the other thread I pointed out how many sacks Sam Mills had during his time with the Saints. It was 10.5 over 9 seasons. No response from this crowd.
Granted, I think Manziel should win, but. I wouldn't be pissed if Te'o wins.

The Heisman Trophy is about more than just being the best college football player – that’s what the NFL draft is for.
It’s about more than just being the most valuable player, and it’s even about more than its own criteria of being the most outstanding player. The Heisman Trophy should go to the signature player, and it should go to the guy who best represents what the season is all about.
It might be nothing more than a beauty and popularity contest among the flashiest players on the top teams, but it’s also remembered just as much, if not more, than who wins the national championship. It’s also a representation of who has defined a given season.
Is Manziel the best statistical player in a BCS league this year? No. Baylor’s Nick Florence leads the nation in total offense and Arizona’s Ka’Deem Carey leads the way in rushing yards per game. It’s also not about one big game, either, even though Johnny Football might become Johnny Heisman because of what he did against Alabama. Florence was able to beat a No. 1 team – Kansas State - and Carey rolled for 366 yards and five touchdowns against Arizona.
Manti Te’o’s great season went beyond mere statistics.
It might be easy to quantify what he meant to the team with his seven picks, tying for the second-most in the nation overall and by far the most by any linebacker. It might be simple to point to the big hits in big moments, including a few shots on some key goal line stands. But Te’o was more than that this year - he was The Guy.
On a team that relied on its toughness on both sides of the ball, and as the star of the No. 1 scoring defense and No. 4 run D in America, Te’o was the leader of a team that gutted its way to the top spot in the BCS rankings with a shot to win it all. He defined the defense, and along the way he embodied what this whole thing is supposed to be about.

I'll be singing Shake Down the Thunder louder than anyone in a few weeks and there is zero "butthurt" here. However, there is no way any halfway intelligent person could honestly feel like Manti Te'o should win a Heisman trophy winner. It is astonishing how the media can manipulate so many people.

He is a great player, the GREATEST ?? NO
...
if he was not playing for ND, he would not be getting this much attention....not taking anything away from his great play
ESPN analysts, Regis at NBC (remember that NBC also broadcasts ND games, Lou HOLTZ, etc.
..there is a DEDICATED effort in Public Relations to AFFECT the HEISMAN vote.
make no mistake about it.

i highly doubt he wins, but i really dont understand where these arguments come from.
being the best player on the undefeated #1 in the country usually places you in the discussion for the Heisman; this isnt some abnormal occurrence.

There are defensive players every year just as good as Manti Te'o. There are defensive players this year better than Manti Te'o. Plenty of times those players have played on top ranked teams. Never have they gotten this much Heisman pub. Not even close. Outside of Suh who are other defensive only players who have even been invited in recent years?

Isn't he the same LB whether he wins or not?
Posted on 12/7/12 at 11:39 am to Roaad
I swear Manti Teo better not win. He would the most undeserving Heisman winner ever.

This is the criteria:
Awarded for The outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity in a any one year.
it does not really address Freshman, Sophomore, or much of anything else.
