Lebron stans say Lebron is better because he's a better all around player. Rebounder, passer, more versatile defender.

All JORDaN DoES Is ScOrE BetTER.

Westbrook is a better defender, passer, rebounder than curry.

AlL CurRY DoEs iS ShoOt BeTtEr.

Does Jordan score better though?

30.1 PPG 49.7% FG 32.7% 3FG 83.5% FT 50.9% eFG

vs

27.4 PPG 50.4% FG 34.3% 3FG 73.6% FT 54.1% eFG

To me, that says they are about equal as scorers. So the argument would be that as scorers they are about equal, and Lebron is better at other aspects (I’m not making that argument, but that’s what it would be).

Your analogy is terrible. Plus Curry at least has shown he can be the best player on a title team, whereas Russ hasn’t even won a title playing with the likes of KD, Harden, PG.

LeBron James is probably the most efficient scorer we have seen. He passed Michael in all-time points on way fewer shots.

Westbrook has a poor basketball IQ, but he plays hard. Curry is the undisputed best shooter of all time and 3 time champion.

This was a poor comparison.

LeBron is better than Jordan because he plays in a more advanced time of Basketball than Jordan. He has been the best player for a decade in the deepest most talented era of basketball yet.

LeBron's elite court vision, passing ability, and prime athleticism separate him from Jordan. While Jordan had elite athleticism in his prime as well LeBron was more freak and had elite size for his position as well.

Again, I said that *would be the argument* in relation to what OP was laying out.

Counting titles is so silly. Its important for the all time greats to show they can be good enough to lead their team to a title (preferably multiple once you are talking about top 5 caliber players). Once you’ve done that, it’s silly to strictly use title count to determine who is better.

And it isn’t even consistent, everyone who says Lebron will never be as good as MJ because 6>3, conveniently throws out that line of logic when it comes to putting Bill Russell in the GOAT conversation.

Jordan plays smart, Westbrook doesn't. That's the difference

Westbrook didn’t start playing defense until playoff P got in his arse about it.

Westbrook historically is meh defender.

Probably my least favorite argument of the Russ vs harden MVP talk was splitting hairs on their lack of defense.

With Lebron completely falling off I thought it was completely settled that Jordan is the GOAT. why are we even discussing this ?

In some cases yes, in this one, not so much.

Translated: When it conveniently aligns to confirm my own personal biases then it makes sense to count titles. When it doesn’t, then no.

Not really. Westbrook is not a good defender. He is a terrible off ball defender. He often loses his man, over helps, and takes too many unnecessary steak attempts.

LeBron is probably the most talented and versatile player to ever play the game, but Jordan is still the GOAT.

Lebron runs into the defender four times and then makes a layup. That’s more strength than skill.

Westbrook is a horrible defender
Curry is average at worst.

Any advantage in creating for teammates Westbrook might have as a passer (and I'm not sure that he's even better at all) is dwarfed by Curry's off ball shooting and movement.

To answer your ultimate question, whether Westbrook > Curry has nothing to do with whether LeBron > Jordan.

You took two player comparisons that have nothing to do with each other and shed no light on the other and jammed them together.

It's like if I asked if Tom Brady > Peyton Manning because of rings, does that make MJ > LeBron? No. They have nothing to do with each other.
