I would imagine it would have gone something like this….

Bye:
1.Michigan
2.Washington
3.Texas
4.Alabama
————————————————————

Home field advantage:
5.Florida State
6.Georgia
7.Ohio State
8Oregon
————————————————————

Teams to travel:
9.Missouri @ 8.Oregon
10.Penn State @ 7.Ohio State
11.Ole Miss @ 6.Georgia
12.Liberty @ 5.FSU
————————————————————
second round at neutral site:
8v9 victor plays Alabama
7v10 victor plays Texas
11v6 victor plays Washington
5v12 victor plays Michigan
————————————————————

Outside looking in:
12.Oklahoma
13.LSU
14.Arizona
15.Louisville
16.Notre Dame
17.Iowa
18.NC State
19.Oregon State
20.Oklahoma State
21.Tennessee
22.Clemson
23.Liberty
24.SMU
25.Kansas State

Edited: fixed for Liberty’s automatic bid and second rounds neutral site.

For clarification purposes:

Wouldn’t Liberty have an auto bid? Also the second round should be neutral site also

12 would be Liberty we’d be arguing over Ole Miss or Oklahoma

Bama gets the 5th seed. They'd still be in the playoffs so no need to commit fraud at the 4 spot.

Honestly not a fan of this bit. Lower seed teams get to host a game in their stadiums but the best don't?

So it would be tOSU Ole Miss
UGA Penn St

Rematch clause first round

They would have flipped Ole Miss and PSU to avoid rematches.

There isn’t a clause but they would have done it anyway.
