Wouldn’t I just watch the Yankees games and not bother with other sports?

Tulane was engineering a badass 4th-quarter drive to force overtime and ESPN completely ignored it to cover Aaron Judge getting intentionally walked

I mean, at worst do picture in picture with a 5 second delay or so and you can switch it if he actually makes contact.

Taking up 50% of the screen and using the baseball audio is just such a poor decision especially for a guy who is just trying to break a tie for 7th all time in single season homers.

Yep. Unfortunately, ESPN doesn’t care. I saw ESPN personalities even speaking out against the Judge cut-ins on social media, but ESPN won’t listen. Let’s hope he hits the home run early today so we don’t have to deal with the cut-ins for several hours.

Conneticutt is 99% people that used to dwell in New York City and moved on for a yard or would move to New York City if they could afford it

Change my mind

It is something of an odd decision. You'd think ESPN would advertise the hell out of the Yankees game to try and get people to tune in to see if Judge hits a homer. Instead they're basically telling everyone, "Don't bother watching the Yankees game if you aren't a fan, if Judge does anything exciting we will show you on our other channels." It's like they're advertising against themselves.

I’m torn.
On the one hand I agree. If I cared about it I’d be watching it.

On the other hand, Tulane, so I’m not watching that crap either.

They’ve always cut in for no-hitters, 3000th hit, etc and now this is an issue? It’s more significant than any game Tulane will ever play

I’m an LSU fan but you missed a great game. Third String quarterback for the Green Wave come and saved the day. If a team from Louisiana is playing I’m all in unless it’s against the Tigers

I get it but I’m just not into CFB enough to watch mid level teams play meaningless games. No disrespect to those who are though.

Tulane is about as much Louisiana as UT El Paso.

You’re way off base here… the whole reason they’re not who they used to be is because Curtis Johnson made Tulane cool for NOLA second-tier talent again.

Now maybe they’re not getting LA talent from your specific area…

I was told by people on this board that Judge is making baseball history and it’s very important that we all see it and the cut ins aren’t really hurting anything.

I don’t know what the frick ESPN is doing.

the fact they’re hell-bent on interrupting college football games again this weekend, yet decided not to do cut-ins of Judge’s ABs during MNF - when the fricking NY Giants were playing - defies all logic

Counterpoint: If you're not watching Tulane then you'd be missing the Judge at bat. I didn't accidentally turn on Tulane instead of the Yankees, it was a conscious decision.

I think a lot of you are missing the point. Whether Tulane playing Houston in football is significant or not, it doesn’t matter. That’s what the people watching ESPN last night wanted to see.

Why not just do cut-ins of Aaron Judge on every channel. Interrupt episodes of “Friends” whenever he has an at bat. Basically the same thing
