The SEC has added TX, MO, and OK in that timeframe
I counted TX as an SEC state, one from OK would make it 3

You don’t know that. There is a huge Texas A&M connection to Louisiana.

It will be interesting to see IF this changes over the next decade.

I grew up worshipping players and coaches and for many years built my life around the season. I listened to every radio broadcast of Auburn and Alabama football as a kid. I watched every game on TV as an adult. I had season tickets for awhile, but I’ve not been to a game since 2019. I no longer build my weekend around CFB. If it’s on when I get back from golf, I watch it, but I don’t change tee times around the schedule. I’ve missed entire games.

In 1993, when Auburn was banned from TV and I lived out of state, I would call home and listen to radio by phone.

I think Auburn sucking is part of it, getting older is part of it, but the monetizing of every aspect of CFP is a big part of it.

BCS to 2 to 4 to 12

The only answer is to let 64 teams in and have a play in game

The previous systems also made it possible for an undefeated team to not be the champion which made the entire season meaningless

I think this is wrong. What the previous system did, by things like your example of undefeated teams not being the champion, is made the championship matter less, which let everything else matter more.
