How'd they not call holding on that safety play? I don't get that.

result is the same, so no consequence for holding. Basically a loop hole in the current rules. Since the 49ers have to setup the return as well. Ravens have the numbers and can hold with no penalty

It is irrelevant! If hey would have it would have been a safety, because that is the penalty for holding in the endzone. No extra time would have been put on the clock, in fact, it is likely the Ravens were instructed to hold.

I've seen it probably a dozen times or more over the years.

Most memorable one was when I was a kid. Redskins leading the Cowboys 9-3 on Monday night football when Joe Theismann takes the snap on fourth down at his own 13 with 3 seconds left. He turned and ran backwards into the endzone. Dallas wasn't expecting it, so he had a second to hold the ball up and mock the Cowboys with it while he did a little dance, then he stepped out of the back of the end zone and spiked it.

Charlie Waters almost knocked him the frick out. Theismann admitted he made a mistake, but it was the Redskins-Cowboys game.

And yeah, it finished 9-5.

perfect call.

Unless you were set to win $400 and this caused you not too.

Sidenote: I love the people bitching about the no call on holding that occurred on this play.

You don't see it often, but in the right scenario it's the right move. It was the right move last night.

The holding was brilliant. if they call holding on you its a saftey anyway. if they don't call it you can run around and kill clock...either way the same amount of time runs off.
