Have you read his posts? But he's right: Russell never won a finals MVP.

And Bear Bryant never won a CFB playoff. HMMMM

He was part of 11 titles, but NEVER, NOT ONE TIME was the most valuable person on the squad???

11 times? That's not just a mistake. Not 11 times. And done by those who were there, and saw the actual performances

Can you let us know who won Finals MVP in those 11 seasons?

Also, did you know that the NBA Finals MVP is actually called the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP? Do you know why it's named after Bill Russell, a guy who didn't win Finals MVP in his 11 times winning a title?

I honestly don't think you're trolling here, just really stupid. The NBA finals MVP award was first awarded in 1969. That happened to be the year of Russell's LAST championship. Jerry West won the first finals MVP award in a losing effort against Russell's Celtics.

You have really made yourself look like a fool with this.

Oh dear God, It went 40 years before it was called that. FORTY!

In their 1st championship Russell was the 4th leading scorer on the team. Same thing during the finals

During the 1960, 61 championships, Cousy was 1st team all-NBA, Russell was 2nd. In '63, '64 Russell was once again 2nd team all-NBA. In 1964, he was the 3rd leading scorer on the team.

Celtics went on to win 2 more championships in the years after he retired, led by Havlicek. Who was part of 8 championships

Way to gloss over the fact he won 5 MVPs, with 2 of those being '61 and '63.

And you've glossed over your "never won a finals MVP award" shtick since, ya know, that award didn't exist at the time.

They did have the league MVP award back then. He won it 4 times in a year when the Celtics won the title. So in 11 championships he wasn't even the MVP 7 times. He wasn't even the best at his positon during those years, let alone all-time. Chamberlain won it the first year they were in the league together, and 3 more times until Russell retired

What exactly are you arguing at this point? That Russell should've won 11 league MVP awards to prove he was great?

You know Jordan didn't win the league MVP award in the '93 and '97 title years.

Only 10 players have done it, and it looks like Bird (twice) and MJ (4 times), add the only two with multiple. I don't get the point though.

He doesn't have a point, he's just trying to back track from his idiotic "Russell never won a Finals MVP award" argument, since he didn't realize the award didn't exist at the time. It's pathetic.

He's crawfishing instead of just saying he botched the "Russell went to the Finals 11 times and didn't win a Finals MVP" as some point he was making without knowing they didn't give that award.

He likely doesn't come back to this thread, or certainly won't acknowledge that...or he'll do both now that I posted that he won't do both.

Well when the whole premise is that Larry Bird is the greatest of all time, when there are handful of players that he trails in every single "greatest" metric, then facts are already irrelevant. He's an all-time great, but when he is objectively behind MJ, LBJ, Kareem, and Magic, and a handful of players with at least as good of an argument as him, then facts are already off the table.
