It’s only year 3. He inherited a bad program. They’ve been competitive in all of their losses and could’ve won them all.

Don’t be crazy and run off a great coach in the early stages of a rebuild of a program.

He deserves at least 5 seasons to turn things around.

According to Brad Crawford of 247 Sports, Lincoln Riley's estimated buyout is $88 million.

All this shite we give the kids now for getting paid and bargain8ng for the most they can get, how about we talk about these coaches, agents and ADs. They're in collusion taking people's money. Usually with being paid to do nothing after being fired. The schools have to get these contracts under control. Use the option route after 3-5 years. Nothing more than that should be guaranteed. They're getting paid what half the roster is projected to be paid going forward. Makes zero sense.

USC biggest issue right now is recruiting. they just don't have the horses needed to win the B1G. their recruiting has been lackluster under riley...the collective over there seems very sus

Looking more like DeBoer at this point bubba. You know Saban isn’t your coach anymore? I really don’t like Brian Kelly and I’m not high on his future here as it relates to being truly elite year in and year out, but I’d take our overrated yankee over your overrated yankee all day long

Hey bubba, you do realize DeBoer is 12-2 against Top 25, 5-1 against Top 10 in his career.

He’s had a bad past two weeks but he shows up in the big games. Kind of the exact opposite of this Lincoln Riley stat. You’ll bounce back tho

The difference between Lincoln Riley and guys like Brian Kelly and Kalen DeBoer is that Kelly and DeBoer have actually built programs from the ground up into winners.

Riley inherited a program built by Bob Stoops and just maintained it like Les Miles did after Saban at LSU.

DeBoer has a better record against ranked competitors already.

Their program has actually been in disarray since the departure of Pete Carroll. Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian didn't succeed, and Clay Helton was simply awful.

Lincoln Riley has actually righted the ship. Their three losses this year are games that could have been won with a better decision on play calling, here and there

USC can't compete in NIL world. Nobody there cares about anything but the Lakers. Even with the Lakers, it's just a social event.

Really? They must have some big money donors who want to win. Add in the allure of L.A. and I would think they could crush it. I'd give Riley two more years and if he can't make a 12 team playoff by then, maybe you move on.

Riley will be given more time than his predecessors because of the B1G move and his huge buyout.

He should have never left Oklahoma.

I think HC's salaries are going to stagnate, if not go down, with the move to paying the players.

you're not gonna like my thoughts on this, but it's primarily the fault of the fans. you, me, all the fans that pack stadiums and watch on TV week in and week out

these large buyouts don't exist for smaller sports like Lacrosse, tennis and golf. the reason they're so huge is that there's so much fan interest and craze behind CFB. if no one watched the sport, the money would dry up, and the demand to hire the best coaches in an attempt to get the best results

not blaming you, but it's human nature to point the finger at everyone else and deflect accountability. it starts and ends with us, the fans
