Who in there right mind thought Tom f’n Savage was better than this kid. This Houston team is fun to watch. Even Nuke Hopkins is getting involved again. Even in Preseason he was solid. Watson should’ve been the guy off gate

It’s pretty frustrating, wish he would have got all the camp reps. Oh well, he’s looked pretty damn good the last 2 weeks.

Can’t remember the last time we scored 30 In a half

Having Fuller back has been big today. Opened a lot of things up with them able to take shots down field. This Titans looks bad but I think Watson is gonna be pretty good

I don't know, but I'm glad I started him this week on my fantasy team

...and he subsequently throws a Pick in the end zone but my point still remains, he’s O’Briens best option

I suppose it's possible that the locker room may have been behind Savage, at first, and BOB was just waiting for the right moment to hand the team over to Deshaun. Remember, Hopkins came out in favor of Savage in the preseason.

Nonetheless, Watson continues to impress and, outside of that awful pick, he played a pretty flawless first half. Very encouraging.

One really bad habit he has that he just did again is backpedal when he's under pressure

When he has a clean pocket and can move around and step up he looks really damn good

Yeah, hopefully the coaches get him to eliminate that from his game ASAP.

It allowed me to grab him in round 15 of my FF draft.

It sucks being a Titans fan lately. First Peyton now Luck/Watson for the foreseeable future.

Texans look great.

Pro coaches do pro things. Lol

You are SUPPOSED to start Savage. You’ve talked him up all year. So I think the OP answer is stubbornness.

Especially if Savage looked as bad in practice or pre season as he did starting. No pocket awareness. Much less what was going on downfield. To get to a pro starting position and not instinctively step up in the pocket is mind numbing.

Watson had to go in after seeing that. Watson is the only guy on the roster who is capable of running for his life. Everything else is gravy. Watson’s job in game one was “don’t get killed!”

Some nice throws today and I like the way he runs AND gets on the ground. Don’t be RG3 and try run for 11 yards when you have 9 and 7 was enough. Get the frick down!!!

Your stolen team deserves nothing but pain.

But, seriously, I hope that you're able to keep Mariota healthy. I hate to see injuries, even ones of the hamstring variety.

Deshaun fricking Watson.

For those not watching the game, he just tied the rookie record for touchdowns in a game, apparently.

ETA: And Cassel decided to get the ball back to us with haste.

First rookie QB to throw for 4 TD's and run for a TD since Fran Tarkenton in 1961.

Maybe because he's a rookie, but I'm pretty sure most Texans fans knew Watson was the guy.

I have no idea.

Coaches are set in their ways.

That said, they did give Savage the quick hook.
