How long it's been since each NFL team had back-to-back losing seasons...

The average is pointless here. The mean is a far better metric

mean is 3 here which is far more useful

Gotta love having that altitude on your side for home games.

very interesting but about what you might expect in many ways.

historically good franchises at the top.
crappy ones at the bottom.

For the most part, sure, but who the frick would have guessed the Jets were 4th with 19 years?

You are right. Chargers are another one. Mired in mediocrity.

Giants are about the only anomaly on the bottom side.

So close to having this broken in 2011. Who knew Tim M'F Tebow would get us to 8 wins that year

The median is 3. The mean is the average.

I thought it would happen after Josh McDaniels nearly dismantled the entire franchise.

Raiders are at the bottom and they are an historically great franchise.

In fact, up until the late 80's they were the winningest franchise in all of sports.

I get that, but they have been a terrible franchise for many years now.

We could put the Browns in there if we go back far enough.

None of it is useful. It's just an interesting stat.

Very true.

22% (11/50) Superbowls have been won by the top 3 teams on the list.

More than a third (34%) by the top 10.

If you take the lowest of the top 12 (number of teams that make the playoffs) the number is 9.

The Jets, Eagles, Cowboys, and Chargers have nothing to show for it though.

Example of stats being thrown around without much thought; the top 10 makes up 31% of the league (10/32)
