Imagine a contract dispute at the end of 2005. The Patriots trade Brady to the Steelers for Roethlisberger. How does each team fare going forward?
If you think there's a good chance New England gets its fourth Lombardi before the 2014 season, Brady is not the clear GOAT.
On the flip side, does Brady even survive behind the terrible offensive line Pittsburgh had?

Throwing out stat comparisons, especially citing Brees 5000yd seasons as if in the same league with Brady means nothing. I saw Dan Fouts smoke Joe Montana in seasons with bigger numbers than Montana had in his entire career, yet Montana is considered a true champion and career winner...Fouts, neither...nor is Brees. Brady is a career winner and very close to dispelling any doubts the majority of long time fans may have had that he is worthy of mention as an all-time great.

The knock against Brady is that the team still excels (maybe not at the highest of levels) when he is not in the lineup.
