you don't think some nba nerd on twitter or reddit has or will figure this out? i know i'm being lame, but i don't want to have to do any legwork whatsoever other than find the finished product (which i am trying to do)

i thought that was what the internet was for!

Suns would beat Memphis by 30 right now.

Why would a team that wasn't mathematically eliminated not be involved
Because they just went 8-0 and dont even control their destiny. Don't take this personally. I dont think any of the bubble teams should have been invited

they literally haven’t played a team who was trying all week. Equivalent to preseason games.

less dumb than penalizing a team for playing 2 or 3 games less on the season than other teams in the standings

Why not? They’re now 1 game back from the 8 seed, couple games go a different way and they’re in. Shows that while they were a longshot, they certainly deserved the opportunity.

I found the data. I'll give you a number later tonight. Doesn't appear that it'll be as unlikely as you think

Once again, did you not watch them beat a full strength Mavs squad? PG and Kawhi look like they're just cool with this shot going in?

Pacers game mattered for seasoning. You truly just spout stuff that's proven false with ease.

sweet, so that's one of the 3 numbers that im interested in.

1) suns chances of going 8-0
2) suns chances of going 8-0 AND not making it
3) given that the suns go 8-0, what are the chances they don't make it?

1 and 2 are obviously going to be insanely low percentages, while i would have guessed that 3 was also low, im not surprised that castorinho is thinking it wont be (or at least wont be shockingly low).

The mavs weren’t all full strength. Give it Up dude.

Luka played 13 min.

The game before that PHI had EVERY STARTER OUT.

before that, OKC played Chris Paul. Every other starter + shroeder, out

No butler, no dragic the game before that.

Etc etc etc.

We weren’t at full strength because the Suns gave owned us this season and we didn’t want to waste the energy on another L.

just run a series of combinations and assume coin flip odds on every game for the bottom half of seeds and I'm guessing you're probably close mate you can do it I know you got it

That was probably beforehand, they ended up being a 9 point favorite today, 9.5 on Tuesday, 8 on Monday, slight favorite against Miami last Saturday, slight underdogs against Indiana before that etc.
Probably much better odds than .03%
