This commercial just came on PlutoTV, and just hearing that voice in that 30-second commercial made me want to punch him in the throat in hopes that it would help him. Are there people that can really listen to this guy?

I like his show. Nothing spectacular, but I wouldn't change the station if he was on.

Because the guy's been on forever and started when Sports Talk Radio was still a big thing.

He was in major markets, NY City, L.A., Atlanta, San Francisco.

If you're just hearing of this guy then you didn't listen to Sports Talk Radio the last 30 years which is probably a good thing.

I've been in Dallas since the second grade, so I was raised on 1310 The Ticket. I know Bob Sturm had been on with Ferrall, but I thought even that was a bit they were doing

I was shocked the first time I saw what he looked like. You hear his voice and picture an 80yr old with lit cigarette in hand, chain smoking through the whole show

But I agree with you.

I heard him way back in the day of course driving around...it was one of those shows where guys would call in - that was the entire show and he'd be caustic with them with his gravely voice.

I never liked him and really he was more raw than the scripted family friendly stuff we got with crap like Mike and Mike. He was big when Rhome was big but not nearly as big as Rhome.

I honestly never knew why he was on the air back then but if you read his wiki it's plain that he was friends with Opie and Anthony who carried a lot of weight back then and that's how he got on.

Surprised he has a show now. He's from the old sports talk radio days.

He's always had that same annoying raspy voice when he was with Sporting News Radio 2 decades ago. I think I read he was even the play by play voice of the Thrashers for awhile. I have no idea how he stays employed for as long as he has.

I mostly listen to Ben Maller on Fox Sports Radio and don't look back. frick everyone else.

Somebody simulcasted him nationally about 20 years ago. It was a funny night show as he would drink and do his rants while watching games. If I remember correctly, he just up and left his radio gig for a hockey PBP job without giving his radio employer any notice what was happening.

I think Scott Farrel got a big endorsement from Howard Stern back in the day. They were like boys or something.

The voice can be annoying, but he's been doing it for a long time.

He started with Scott Ferrell on the bench, back in early 90's. "Hey Scott, pour me 2 yaegers, and frick the Cowboys".

His show is more of the hard core fan show, you can call and shite on your team, talk shite about your team, talk shite about other teams. He's very connected, and loves to gamble.

And since his show was on later in the night, he would get the fans coming from events, getting home from games, calling in and talking shite.

I will say props to him for being on radio for that long with that voice. He seems high energy, but I just couldn't do it with that voice.

Radio is basically all about who you know and if he's getting endorsements from Opie & Anthony and Howard Stern, that's basically a shoe-in

Maybe the only person with a worse radio voice than him is Jody Mac and they used to be on CBSSports Radio back to back.

Very underrated. He is hilarious. The problem is that his show comes on overnight.

Stern gave him a weeknight 3-hour slot on Sirius where he could rant uncensored. It was hilarious before Barstool was a thing.

He was popular way before Howard gave him a show to do sports and anything else.

Had a cult type following, as many grew up listening to him with his first show in early 90's.

Oh okay, I have no clue who he is obviously, I was just trying to figure out how that voice got a show
