I don't think they will whitewash it.
If Tressel point blank told them he had no information about the activity until December, then he is toast.
Lying in an investigation is not going to be whitewashed no matter how much that Asshat Delany pressures the NCAA.

I applaud him for having the courage to protect his players. But he's got to have the ability to loo ahead and realize that this might be putting his job in jeopardy, no matter if it was tats or rings or whatever. He's got to be able to say, "Well, I know that it is not big things they are selling, but I will be lying to the NCAA soon when I sign those papers."

He straight up lied to the NCAA. He knew something wrong had occurred and he told the NCAA nothing happened. His contract with OSU also stipulates he must report all known instances of rules being broken.
Dez Bryant got hosed his entire last year in college football, but Pryor and company only get 5 games?
Hell, Bush had an instance with a coach that is no longer at the University anymore and the NCAA docked scholly's and bowl games.
Punishment is not proportionate in NCAA rulings. Tressel, purposefully and knowingly lied about what happened and deserves more than just a simple 5 games. Their wins from last season also need to be vacated, as well as the Sugar Bowl title they won.
