What if you only completed an online program at the school?

I’ve been an LSU fan since I was a young child. I went to school and graduated from Southeastern. I’m still a big LSU fan, and that never changed. If someone thinks that I don’t “deserve” to be a fan, that’s their problem.

What I’m noticing more with younger kids is that many of them just latch onto the teams that are currently successful. Ask them about the teams, and most of them don’t know dick. Those are the types that aggravate me.

Can I root for NFL teams I haven’t played for?

If I can do that, why would someone else not be able to root for a university they didn’t actually attend?

I did not attend Mizzou, but I also did not attend any school after HS and immediately went to work at my families company. I get some jokes about being a mizzou fan without going to mizzou, but I find it more strange if I went to a different school that had D1 sports and still pulled for another school.

Meh I kind of became an LSU fan living in Illinois randomly. I didn’t think I’d actually end up going to LSU but got a scholarship that was too good to pass up.

Once I had a mizzou fan give me a hard time about not going to mizzou but being a fan. What really pissed me off, because most of the time I get this its in a joking way and I roll with it, it happened during a game when we sucked and there was a 60% crowd. Why would you care as long as I drove 2 hours to the game?

I hope one day you have children and they become fans of your favorite team’s rival just because they like the mascot.

Not sure why anyone would have a problem with it.

Though I graduated from LSU, there are other college teams I pull for. It’s usually a perennial underdog that’s not a threat to my team.

I’m pulling for Baylor because of Aranda. I want him to keep his job until LSU needs another defensive coordinator.

I pull for Iowa because one of my buddies went there and wants his team to be better.

I pull for any team that plays Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas, and Ohio State.

I pull for other Louisiana colleges out of loyalty for the State that shaped me to be the dumbass I am today.

I went to ULM........I would have never made it at LSU. My dad was right.

But I have been going to LSU games nonstop since 1974. I would drive from Monroe to LSU and back to Monroe the same day on game days.

I have 2 kids that went/are going to LSU.

So yeah............I can root for LSU.

No way. Only like 35% of the population has a bachelors degree.

If anything, it's probably lower at the bigger schools.

Just depends on the situation. I don’t expect every one in Alabama or Louisiana to have gone to Bama or LSU and just not be able to root for their home state teams.

Being a USC fan from Dallas is gay though.

I grew up going to LSU games (season tickets for 13 years). Grew up in Mississippi, couldn’t afford out of state tuition to LSU and chose to not bankrupt myself. Does that make me less of a fan?

I am fine with it. People have the right to root for whatever team or school they want to. Most students at ULL, USL, La Tech, ULM, Northwestern State, Nicholls, McNeese are bigger LSU fans than their own schools.

am I in the wrong for thinking this is weird? Idk. I grew up a UCLA fan and still am but I will never root for them over A&M

Exactly

And the only people that care about ‘rivalries’ anymore are the fans. Especially when you’re talking about the nfl
