Used to be a prime time team that most players would play for in a heartbeat. Now, no big time player will even consider playing in NY thanks to the the train wreck they call a front office. What happened?

NBA rookies weren't alive when the Knicks were a primetime team.

Dolan primarily.

Zeke as GM screwed them tremendously and no subsequent regime has ever been able to clear the books without turning around and overpaying shitty players.

They are only a primetime team because they are in the heart of Manhattan. As far as success goes, they had that run in the 70's, the Ewing years, and that one 50 win Melo season. They've kind of always sucked

Hired by Dolan

Stephen A Cohen is rumored to be backing out of the purchase of the Mets. Maybe he should offer that cash (and some more) to Dolan for the Knicks.

Yeah I guess checking over their record history they never really had that dominant of a run. Just the fact of them playing in MSG in Manhattan made them a desirable landing spot for players. Now they don’t even have that going for them...

He sucked but he's been gone for 12 years and they sucked before he got there. They've cleared the books for big free agency moves multiple times but the big stars don't want to take their money.

They never want to look like they’re rebuilding because the NY market won’t allow it. Hence, Bobby Portis, Marcus Morris, Taj Gibson, and Elfrid Payton

It all went down hill when Bill Burgess wanted to move them to St. Louis and hired a fan to be the head coach.

Everybody understood the deal with those signings. It wasn't to try to make a contender. They had to get to the salary floor and they wanted short contracts to keep the money open so they can get turned down by Giannis when he's a FA.

Dolan is dumb. He makes dumb decisions and hires dumb people, who also make dumb decisions and hire other dumb people. Et cetera.
