Right there in your backyard and you let tech get him? Was he a character issue back in high school or grades? Or just a late bloomer? Makes no sense to me

He wasn't as advertised out of Highschool. I mean the guy is from Minden. This isn't the 80s anymore. He is a player that kept working and got better despite not being at the best school. It's not a rare thing anymore

Yeah it's not like LSU was hurting for DB's during his time in college and at that time you still had the signing limits in place so spots were at a premium

LSU can't take everyone in state

Look at Justin Jefferson, he was a two star and LSU took a chance

We had a few decent DBs in the 2015 & 2016 classes

Kristian Fulton
Greedy Williams
Donte Jackson
Kevin Tolliver
Savion Smith

You weren't taking him over any of those guys coming out of high school. But he's definitely a player we would go after today in the transfer portal era.

There’s always more good players available in the state of LA than you can possibly take in a cycle.

If that weren’t the case then places like Tech wouldn’t even have a football team at this point, not D1 anyway.

LSU might have been able to win a national championship in 2019 with him.

He wasn’t even the most highly regarded corner on the team at that time. Amik Roberson was. Amik was the pick six king & still should have stayed around for his senior year but went pro due to money issues. They were both drafted in the 5th round in the same year & Amik starts for the Raiders.

They were drafted back-to-back. Amik was a much more dynamic high school player, but undersized. Sneed was considered a Safety prospect his whole career until he got to KC.

LSU didn’t whiff on either. Amik was a tough one to pass on, but it was a matter of class and roster space.

Teams like ARK, MSU, TCU, and others that have traditionally pulled leftovers from Louisiana are the ones that whiffed on both.

This is amazing. 2 guys not only playing, but starting in the NFL. And they were on the same team as teenagers.

Not a whiff at all.

College coaches did not recognize Sneed’s speed.

His development in Ruston was amazing and life changing.

He played both ways, and was more of a safety than corner in HS. Really good he player though.
