They had several lifetimes of retirement money years ago. If it's so difficult then retire. What a whine.

Can his family just stay in Milwaukee, and Jrue rent out a condo in Boston or something? I don’t get the big uproar from his wife.
Sure. But Jrue isn't the type who wants to be away from his family.

anything this proves that money doesn’t solve all problems. Sure they obviously have more resources than a normal person but kids going to new schools, having them make new friends, you making new friends; those are all things where money doesn’t come into play
ETA: I don't feel sorry for them though but I can see where she's coming from
Agree.
She just needed to vent.

I know it's commonplace in pro sports, but imagine if your company just called you right now and said they were moving you to a different city with no heads up. You would be pissed too, so I see where she's coming from.
And if you were going to be paid millions of dollars and were going to retire inside 5 years? 99.9999% of people would take NO issue. This is pathetic.
He's worth over $100 million. Just quit and retire.

We’re not making what they make though
And they’re usually younger too

You are paid millions of dollars to play a game. When you want to settle down and set roots for long term, you don't live the life of a professional athlete. You get a stable job that doesn't have the potential for relocation.
I know it sucks the team didn't give Jrue a heads up, and I agree they should have, but to act like some major victim when your husband is making north of $30 million a year is a bit ridiculous.

And he'll be completely retired within 5 years, easily. It's a pathetic whine and completely out of touch.

You realize there is nothing forcing them to move her and the kids with Jrue. They could stay in their community and he lives in another place for work.
Many of us had parents working abroad and away from us for that very reason. It was a choice for the benefits of the job you take.
I just hate the perpetual whining of people like her as if this is some sort of injustice.

I mean you don't have to react at all. She's upset that her family has to completely uproot themselves from the community they've gotten accustomed to in order to move another city.
Not really a big deal.

there is nothing about making 35 and 37 million dollars to play 80 something basketball games next 2 years. He still gets paid 100% if he gets hurt and has to sit on the bench. He has no chance of losing his earnings the next 2 years. There is absolutely nothing about their situation i want to hear them bitch about. They can afford a mansion house in every city they built roots in.

It's called perspective my guy. Appreciate what you have, everyone has to do it. I have the same expectations for these people as any person.
But please, continue your unhealthy athlete worship.
There are people making a fraction of his money working on the road for 30 years to feed their family and they can't even enjoy their retirement when they get old enough to retire.
Be grateful and stop whining.

"Tough shite. That's part of the deal, and both you and your husband are fully aware that this can happen at any time. It's one of the very few drawbacks of his chosen profession, which has paid him enough money to where the next four generations of Holidays will never have to work a day in their lives. Shut the frick up and stop whining."

If they were paying me $50M a year, I sure as frick wouldn't be whining about it.
