alright guys, I'm checking out. I was in the Reliant Park suites today for a conference and it made me so anxious for football season. I have a feeling it could be a special year for us

btw, bout to pull the trigger on a custom liberty white jersey. Thoughts?

PS- talked to Terrence Tolliver's old man out in Hempstead last week. Had no idea he's signed w/ Detroit. AJ80 had some good things to say about him, I wish him luck out of our conference

That's pretty badass, I've never been a big jersey wearing fan, but do you bro.

mean other than the Baltimore game last year, Jacoby is a really good returner

He's pretty good, I guess I'm just sick of wondering what the hell is gonna happen when he fields a punt.

WE HAVE to get a WR that can start next year, not a project in the first 3 rounds.

I agree with this. I think Wright is very polished FWIW and could contribute right away

I guess the big hole is the one guy they lost who only played 5 games last year, but was their best defender from 2007-2010 like that matters.

you dont think there are holes at LB or secondary?

interior line?

as i outlined a few weeks ago, some of these guys made a name against bad teams. It wont always be that easy. See below.

Damn, I keep forgetting that only 1 guy plays and not 22.

NFL is a QB driven league. Any time you have a good QB, you have a shot at winning.

quote:

Of course they are screwed because they won't be playing Brees, Big Ben and Ryan instead they will get Brady, Rogers and Manning who will not doubt be exactly the same at 36 after a year off as he was in 31.

in 2011,

-Kerry Collins, Chad Henne, Jason Campbell, Matt Hasselbeck, Colt McCoy, Andy Dalton, Dan Orvlosky, Blaine Gabbert(2x)

Texans played 1 elite QB, Drew Brees. Big Ben and Ryan tier 2. Flacco tier 3.

Next year you get 3 elite QBs: Brady, Rogers, Manning.

1 on the cusp of being elite: Matt Stafford

3 out of those 4 on the road

not to mention Cutler, borderline tier 2. On the road in CHI

yeah, the consolation is you still get Gabbert twice, rookie Luck twice. Whoever Tenn goes with twice. Miami and Minnesota.

there are 6 or 7 guaranteed wins on the schedule. But that won't tell the story of the 2012 Texans. The games that will define them will be against the QBs i mentioned earlier, as well as swing games vs Balt and NYJ.

Wow...easy schedule

I hate to make predictioins before the draft, training camp, and preseason but I'd say 10-6.

Houston has a great offense and a defense who got after the QB last year but I think they could use more help in that secondary.

I think thats a given. I think we get 9 wins

games that are toss-ups

NE
NYJ
GB
CHI
DET
BAL
DEN

We have too many other needs to draft a ILB in the first,

Depends on who's there, Hightower would be hard to pass up.

I look at it like this, as long as they get a WR and DE/OLB in the first 3 rounds, I'm fine with it.

The only glaring hole remains Kareem Jackson. But getting pressure on the QB, which we did last year covers some of that up. He did get better last year, but he was so terrible the year before he is only average at best now

Yeah I would be fine with that as well, and then later rounds pick up OL depth and maybe a couple secondary players.

I'm sure Rick Smith already has the Coby Fleener pick sent in to the league office

I really wouldn't be mad if they took Fleener to be honest. He could be a Gronk/Graham type of guy.

You don't have to tell me about that I wish our D could apply pressure like that.

I know that Brees picked on him a good bit when we played ya'll last year. I'll tell you what, the Stafford-to-Megatron connection is impressive, better hope he doesn't draw that assignment the most when ya'll play them. And you're right, he was so bad his first year, there was nowhere to go but up I never got why Houston picked him so early. Even Bama fans I know were surprised by it.

This is pretty funny coming from a Texans fan

I'm sorry but did the jets even make the playoffs this year? The Texans would have had a legitimate shot at the Superbowl had Matt Schaub and Mario Williams been healthy and everyone knows it.

Do you think Im a Jets fan?

And my point was that the Texans were the "Hot Team" in the offseason for like 4 straight years and every year they went like 8-8. So yes its funny for a Texans fan to call out another team for being pure "hype machine"

I agree that the Jets have been all hype the lastcouple years, I just thought it was funny that the Texans forgot they were that team like 4 years in a row

True, but there is actually a good season to build off of, and the majority of the team will be back this year. No reason to think they won't play well again.

I think my point was misconstrued. I wasnt bashing the Texans or saying they wont be good this year (deffinitly think they will be), that wasnt my point.

My point was really just that it was funny a Texans was bashing another team for being all hype, when thats what Texans were from like 06-10. Thats like a Chargers fan calling out a Cowboys fan for underacheving with a lot of talent or vice versa.

Damn, I must've missed all the hype on us. I think there was a decent amount in '07 or '08, then a good amount last year. Outside of that, I don't remember a ton of nat'l media members being real high on us. And I was paying attention (or at least I thought I was).

:NotSureIfSerious:

You guys were the "Suprise" teamevery season. Every year was the year that the Texans were gonna break through and win the division or atleast make the playoffs.I dont know how you missed that
