No trolling, I promise

What part of this team do you truly identify with?

Do you love Lebron?

Or AD?

Nobody on this team has been here longer than 2 years. Is there anybody you’re truly attached to?

Have you grown up with any of these guys?

Can you stand behind any of their off court behavior?

Like seriously, sell me on this team’s “connection” to the fans

it's about the name on the front of the jersey, not the back

Most Lakers fans I know live in Ohio now. I'm all alone on the Cavs train.

I’m going to guess that most fans of any team that you know are likely to be from Ohio.

The connection is with the team not the players.

Laker fans always pay attention to their minor league teams like the Pels.

AD had been part of the org for years.

It’s fun watching young players make the jump from the minor leagues to the big club. It’s nice when players realize their dreams.

I grew up rooting for them. Some of us have been NBA fans for longer than a few years.

I don't think you and I see eye to eye on why you're a fan of a team.

Been a Lakers fan since I was young. Back then you either were a Laker fan or a Celtic fan. Magic Johnson was larger than life and fun to watch. Thus I became a Laker fan since I can remember watching basketball.

Been a fan through the Van Exel and Kobe era’s and now with Lebron.

I identify with the name on the front. That never changes.

Can’t say I love Lebron/AD but I consider them two of the best players in the game today. Lebron is one of the greatest ever. Quite happy to see them in the purple/gold and excited to see them play together.

Never cared about off the court stuff. Everyone had opinions and has a right to those opinions. As long as they aren’t committing a crime or hurting someone I don’t care. So yes I support their right to give an opinion whether I agree with it or not.

Don’t care about length players are here. You do what you need to do to win.

Haven’t grown up with any of those guys as none of them are from Louisiana. I did grow up with a guy that played in the NBA though. He was never a Laker.

As far as connection to the fans. It’s like any fan base. You grow up watching them. As a Laker fan you get used to being “hated”. You embrace that hate and take pleasure when you shut the haters up.

I do want the Pels to do well as I found the young core they acquired to be easy to cheer for

In summation (and I think this pic sums up the fan base quite well):

It is pretty cool that there are two teams in LA that are legit title contenders
