All American sports need a promotion/relegation system.

when was the last game where the Astro's got 7k Astro's fans to attend a game, honestly and not inflated #'s.

and somebody hit me with a golf clap gif for the Astro's selling out on Opening Day.

With all the new policies and promotions let's hope they could manage selling out Opening Day.

They are only 2 games behind the Dodgers in the win column, and they're getting paid $200 million.

the stadium holds 42K, they get a lot close to that than 7K every opening day. Mostly Rangers fans, even if true is not 36K.

It would make things more competitive. The bad teams would atleast be interesting to watch toward the end of the season too.

How would baseball teams ever rebuild? If you implement a salary floor, you might as well get away with the minors. You gonna just make suck teams over pay for average players just to meet a floor? I get the premise, but awful idea.

No, but MLB should address what they are doing as anti-competitive and bad for the sport. If they change the rules to cut them out of profit sharing or take away draft picks that would be a good way to improve the integrity of the game.

What exactly is anticompetitive about trying to win with what you have in the system instead of buying overpriced free agents who wont help you anyway? As long as their isnt a salary cap in baseball (there never will be), this will be the way that smaller market teams rebuild for success. I guess all teams should be like the Yankees and Red Sox and just buy whoever they want.

They have traded away useful parts to make their product worse and improve their draft positions. This is the strategy, they are trying to suck and have tried to suck because being worse now gives them a draft advantage over other teams in teh league. They don't care about the product because they get money no matter what from profit sharing and their television deal.

Seemed reasonable to me

It is only unreasonable to idiots who know nothing about the franchise other than what their current payroll and record is.

All of this BS over the last few months about them tanking on purpose, being historically bad, etc and they aren't even the worst team in baseball this season.

They are 12-8 in their last 20 games.

16-14 over the last month. 9-8 in June. Seems pretty competitive to me.
