So you never heard of the Detoit Tigers? It was just 2003 they lost 119 games

And over the last ten years, Detroit has played in the WS twice and the Astros have played in it once.

People like the OP...people who think that teams are static...are part of the problem with modern sports discussions.

So another baseball thread where the OP hasn't even bothered to know what he's talking about before opening his mouth?

It's too common on here. See Draconian Sanctions.

At least when I open an NBA thread I expect idiocy.

You are 100% wrong. I think the Astros are doing it the right way.

They aren't going out and spending a bunch of money to try to buy wins.

They are building their team from the ground up by getting prospects to work their way up through their system.

Wait in a couple years when all of the young prospects they've been racking up are playing on the team. Then the Astros may go out and spend money on free agents.

After scrolling down the comments on the first page of this thread, I looked back up to see which ones DS had posted.

What exactly is anticompetitive about trying to win with what you have in the system instead of buying overpriced free agents who wont help you anyway? As long as their isnt a salary cap in baseball (there never will be), this will be the way that smaller market teams rebuild for success. I guess all teams should be like the Yankees and Red Sox and just buy whoever they want.

No Cyrus, they should be more like the Braves! Braves dont have the highest payroll, they just have the best management in baseball.

Oh and Astros suck
