Per College Football Playoff Rankings

#10 Penn State is my guess by -1.5

Yes teams not favored never win football games so this is very important

And Oregon was a 10 point favorite over a team they lost to in regular season.

It means nothing.

There would literally be no reason to play the games if we just decided who was the better team based on point spread.

Should NEVER factor into playoff rankings. You’re talking POWER RATINGS which are designed for and should only be used for betting

Quit posting like a daft contrarian with a hot take. Liberty is not a P5 team.

Oregon was favored over Washington
UGA was favored over Bama

It’s why they play the games.

yep using that logic Oregon deserves to be in over Washington. They’d be favored in a rematch judging from prior matchups.

I guess you’re right. They do deserve it more than Bama and UT. Keep them both out.

Sure, they should be getting more credit for what they've done.

I've long been a proponent for a playoff featuring all conference champions. And I don't care about the "X conference is stronger than Y conference," and "the second place SEC team is better than the conference champions from 5 other conferences" arguments.

Straight up, you win your conference - you're in the playoff. Every team in the country starts the season with the exact same criteria for making the playoff. Every team knows exactly what they have to do to get in. No confusion, no debate. No more of this "best loss" bullshite.

The purpose of the question was to look at the
“ best 4 teams” aspect of the voting, not to say that betting lines are anything more than they are

Clearly, if the committee is tasked with taking the four best teams, FSU clearly would not be one. And the betting line is just another way to show that.

Bama was a 9 or 10 point favorite over Ohio State in 2014.
